Pretty surroundings, but fairways need a lot of work to even be called fair.
The potential is there if the proper resources were applied.

Course fairways were a little rough but was challenging and fun
Will definitely play again. Greens were like a northern course.
The greens had a lot of undulations and were in very good condition. Fun to figure out the line and speed. Good bit of water and sand traps. Sand traps were in great condition. Course had a driving range, practice putting green, practice sand trap and a practice chipping green. Staff was very friendly. Ate supper in the restaurant. Food was delicious and the restaurant staff were also very friendly. Will definitely play again. AND I DID NOT LOSE ONE BALL!!
Greens are in excellent condition.
Placid Lakes CC is always a good challenge. Wish it wa closer to Sebring.
Typical Florida Municipal style course
12 noon tee time. Front nine of course was closed due to overly wet conditions. From what I viewed, front nine looked like a nice layout. The 1st half of the back nine was in good shape. Fairways fairly plush. Roughs were high enough so errant balls couldn't be spotted quick but manageable. The best attribute of this course is that the greens are in great shape. Fairly fast & rolling true. Course is far from pristine. It's maintained but far from well maintained. For the price my comrades & I paid, we've played far superior courses. I'd place this course in category of Lake Orlando GC, Indian Lake Estates, & Wilowbrook GC except w/ far superior greens. Carts are gas powered & without windshields & raincover for bags in back. I pretty much recommend every course though so they can all be tried at least once & judge for yourself.. My comrades & I still had fun on this course as with every course we play.
Greens OK but overall needs TLC.
Forgiving course, wide fairways and reasonable greens but fairways need some TLC. Staff friendly and no hold-ups around course with completion in 3 1/2 hours. Excellent price. If the course was near to my home I would probably use now and again but in my opinion it's not worth a long drive.
Best Greens in Highlands County!! Huge Value!!!!
This course is a challenging but fair track. The greens are well designed and most the time in great condition. PLCC has a nice driving range and putting green to pratice on. Its always nice when a course has a 19th Hole to purchase a hot lunch or cold beverage. PLCCC team is always willing to help and meet your needs. Its a must play and what a value!!!! A. Haney
The course is a nice length with a lot of variety on the holes.
The course is enjoyable. It has a fair number of sand traps and quite a lot of water. The course is scenic with a number of alligators. The fairways were somewhat dry and could stand to be greener.
