Sandals Upton Estate Golf & Country Club

We played 5 days of golf and loved every minute. Everett was the best caddy we have ever had. It was like having 5 days of private lessons. We have been home 2 months and every time we play we talk about and use the tips Everett showed us we are already planning when to go back! Great course with amazing staff!!

Sandals golf doesn't get mentioned along with the upper tier courses of Montego Bay, but for a golfer on a Jamaican vacation, it's well worth it to sacrifice the beach for a tee time. The course was in solid shape when I played it. The greens were slow - and likely always will be - but it's nothing you can't adjust to with some patience. Taking a local caddie is what makes the round go. The greens are some of the smallest in resort golf. Hitting them is hard enough. Putting on them is even trickier. Many holes are quite hilly or feature a dogleg, meaning you've got to have a strategy to be in the right position to score well. The only real water hazard is the pond between the 10th and 18th fairway. Only a good drive on the last hole will carry it, something neither me or my playing partner could accomplish. The clubhouse is relatively new, rebuilt after a fire in 2021. There's a bar upstairs serving food and drinks and a spacious pro shop below.

Course is great. Sure, the greens are a little slow, but everything else is in phenomenal conditions. You get a caddy to enhance the experience, and I'd strongly recommend requesting Dianna. She made the day way better and knew the course in and out. Even some putts I would have never believed her reads to be right, turns out they were.

Course is equal to marginal $25 course back home. Expected resort level got low end municipal

Greens terrible. Holes under repair Not worth the time much less the money

Played this course while on vacation, played it three times. The course is very scenic with many changes in elevation. Fairways are nice and wide, rough is very playable but will penalize you if you do not strike the ball first. The greens could be better though, they were rough and patchy. They are small and very challenging. Listen to your caddy, they know the breaks!

The staff is very friendly. Our caddy for the three rounds was awesome! He quickly recognized our games, my wife and I, and suggested the most appropriate club for the situation.

All in all, a very good course, truly enjoyes playing this track!
