About
The environmentally friendly Blackhorse Golf Club in Cypress was designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, who teamed to build one of the best 36-hole, daily-fee facilities in Texas. Designed to maximize the natural setting, this beautiful complex is a perfect setting for golf with its huge variety of oaks, elms, and wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of bird species. Holes 4-6 on Blackhorse Golf Club's North Course generally get the best of high handicappers. Holes 4 and 5 route through massive trees and expansive wetlands, both playing over 400 yards. No. 6 is the North Course's signature: a 180-yarder that tees over the bend of the creek to an elevated green enhanced with railroad ties and framed by bunkers.

Everything Great but....
Course was in great shape - Staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. Only downside is we were paired with 2 very nice young men who were sharing a set of clubs. They weren't fast players to begin with and sharing clubs, especially a putter on the greens, made the round feel very slow and my partner and I were constantly trying to pick up the pace, looking over our shoulders at the group behind us, waiting in the fairway on every hole. Recommend insisting on players having their own set or renting a set.
Great weather! The course was in great shape. Blackhorse North has an excellent layout. The only problem is that we played behind a very slow five some. This distracted from the experience. The Marshall should not allow this was happening and should take action.
Great day at Blackhorse
Fun course. So impressed with speed of play. It took us 3 1/2 hours to play 18 on Sunday afternoon.
We ate lunch before and food was good. Great course layout. Greens roll well. Course has a lot of play do a little chewed up but still in good condition. Great practice facilities. Everyone is friendly. Played twice in last two weeks and enjoyed both times.

5.5 HOUR ROUND!!!
Played the North course at 1:00 this afternoon. Literally just walking off the course more than five and a half hours later! Don’t understand why the course has so many people stacked behind one another. This experience was dreadful.
Great course
It is always fun to play here. Unfortunately after the heavy rains last few days, the greens are very soft and the fairways are a bit soggy, bunkers not very playable. Of course all those are temporary. Eager to play again there when course conditions are restored.

Beautiful Course
Very beautiful course!!!! The course is fairly straight forward as long as you keep it in the fairways. The course for the most part was in great shape. Greens were almost perfect. Rough was just about right. Only complaint were the bunkers, the course has a lot and not one was in any type of condition to play out of. Not a huge deal, just constructive criticism, but when you pay a premium for playing here you expect the best.. Even though I am not a member , the best part of the day was the staff, everyone was extremely nice and helpful!!! Definitely one of the top courses in the area.
