BlackHorse Golf Club - North Course
About
The environmentally friendly Blackhorse Golf Club in Cypress was designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, who teamed to build one of the best 36-hole, daily-fee facilities in Texas. Designed to maximize the natural setting, this beautiful complex is a perfect setting for golf with its huge variety of oaks, elms, and wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of bird species. Holes 4-6 on Blackhorse Golf Club's North Course generally get the best of high handicappers. Holes 4 and 5 route through massive trees and expansive wetlands, both playing over 400 yards. No. 6 is the North Course's signature: a 180-yarder that tees over the bend of the creek to an elevated green enhanced with railroad ties and framed by bunkers.

Golfer Reviews
Great conditions
The course is in great shape and staff is always super nice. They have some of the newest golf clothing around.
Decent
The course was in good shape and greens looked great. Greens rolled slow (8) though. They had the worst bunkers in all of Houston. Members made excuses for the management but there shouldn't be we exposed rocks and turf in every bunker. Awful. I got rained out after 9 holes and they would not offer a raincheck because I paid through Golfpass. Golfpass doesn't offer rainchecks. Now I'm out $80 for only 9 holes with terrible bunkers. Never again.
Brilliant even in bad weather
I am very impressed with this course. The weather conditions today were absolutely atrocious, but with the way the course is laid out and the drainage I was able to still played good round.
I am looking forward to coming back again when the weather is better and really take advantage of these brilliant greens.
Staffing
Pro shop staff was great, morning bar lady was awesome, cart girl was slow, only saw her once, created a back up. Wont be back.
Greens were in terrible shape. Needs sod, fairways and rough need to be mowed better and show me off a distinction.
Breakfast was great!
The Waiting Game
Teed off around 4pm with 4 groups ahead of us and only 2 behind, staggering of tee times bunched is up and we were only able to complete 16 holes before dark. Course was fine, not a lot of grass on fairway and greens were a little damaged from the freeze but the ball rolled well. Just disappointed they didn’t space us out better so we weren’t waiting all day long!
More of the same
Used to be a member here. Some things never change. Too many tee times, no oversight of slow play.
Great layout and course would be in better shape if they had few people out there. Overpriced
Great Golf Course!
Beautiful open fairways with great views... excellent greens. Perfect after the freeze. Would definitely come back!!
Water the fairways
Love Blackhorse but haven't played in a couple weeks. Was very disappointed in the quality of the fairways. Lost grass due to the freeze but now they weren't watered and were extremely hard. It was like hitting shots of the cart path in some fairways.
Great Golf Course
Always enjoy playing this course, course is in excellent shape and the staff are always great!
