BlackHorse Golf Club - North Course
About
The environmentally friendly Blackhorse Golf Club in Cypress was designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, who teamed to build one of the best 36-hole, daily-fee facilities in Texas. Designed to maximize the natural setting, this beautiful complex is a perfect setting for golf with its huge variety of oaks, elms, and wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of bird species. Holes 4-6 on Blackhorse Golf Club's North Course generally get the best of high handicappers. Holes 4 and 5 route through massive trees and expansive wetlands, both playing over 400 yards. No. 6 is the North Course's signature: a 180-yarder that tees over the bend of the creek to an elevated green enhanced with railroad ties and framed by bunkers.

Fran’s Round
Good day. Course a little dry. Greens in good shape.
No marshall
For the money you pay to play here you would think they would have a Marshall to enforce pace of play. Back nine was way to backed up. Also had a group of 4 join a group of 3. Making it a 7, and stood on the green. Another note is the loudness of the people in the patio at the restaurant, like on hold 9,16,17, and 18 you could literally hear them screaming, they were pretty sauced up from day drinking. Just think if you spend the money to play here you should be able to play without the loudness and slow play on the back. Course was fantastic but I won’t be back.
Very slow pace of play
They need Marshalls on the course to help move people along. On the last hole a 4some and 3some joined up to play in front of us. Seriously! Nice course but a bit over priced
Blackhorse North
Played Blackhorse North on a Tuesday on a Hot Deal. The course was in very good condition but greens had been punched about 8-10 days ago. The greens were smooth but a little slow for my taste, which rendered the 4 stars. The carts were clean and sanitized and the pro shop was set up for physical distancing, Cart girl was visible several times on a hot day (index - 105 degrees).
Keep up the hard work guys. thanks!
Nice course. Slow play
The course was in good shape with the exception of the bunkers. Pace of play is an issue and we never saw a marshal on the course to help. The price for the course seems a little high.
well taken care off
Course was in excellent condition
Really good driving range
only thing, small bucket of practice small is too expensive for the amount of balls in the really small canister
conditions were very good...
While I've played the South course several times before, this was the first time out on the North.
The overall conditions on the course were good.
The grass was very good everywhere. The greens were receptive, well groomed and rolled nicely.
The loss of a star comes from the bunkers being absolutely atrocious. Totally untouched for quite some time, not maintained by grounds keeping,
and unraked (even though rakes were present) with many washed out. COVID-19 not withstanding, they should have been better than this, especially at the price point of the greens fee.
Pace of play was very good. But, the group in front of us consisted of two golfers, with two non-golfer cart riders. On the twelfth hole, the two women riders decided that they should start hacking it around and caused significant delays in play. They were obviously not golfers, swinging and missing, dribbling or skulling the ball on most contact, leaving the cart parked in the middle of the fairway in the approach area of the green while chasing the ball around....etc...
No clubs, not properly dressed, and very unlikely to have paid greens fees?
While this is a problem no matter what, it wouldn't have been an issue for us if they had kept the pace of play and stayed in contact with the group in front of them. But, by the time we had reached 18 there were just under three holes between them and the group in front. It was just ridiculous, especially at a golf club at this level.
The only other issue was lack of mask wearing in the clubhouse, customers, not staff.
Course in Good Shape and Great experience
The course was in good shape and greens were excellent. Including GREAT customer service by Mike in proshop and the course Marshall. Definitely going back.
Great course
The course was in great condition. It definitely provides a challenge and punished bad shots. I loved the challenge of it. The staff was super friendly. I will be back to shoot lower next time.
