About
The South Course at BlackHorse is known for the sand quarry that was ingeniously worked into the layout by the design team. Particularly on the back side, the wetlands and sand features come into play prominently and create a totally unique setting for golf.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 290 west to the Spring Cypress exit. Go south (left) under Hwy. 290 to Old Hempstead Hwy. Turn right and drive .5 mile. Turn left on House & Hahl Rd. Then left on Mound Rd. and right on Fry Rd. The entrance is on the right.

Great Play at Blackhorse
I really like this facility, but overpriced at the regular rates. GN makes it affordable. Very challenging course with many hazards. The rough can eat your balls on most holes. Greens are hard but not too fast.
Thursday Afternoon at BHGCC
Course layout is good and staff are very courteous and friendly, and great value for money..
Got an excellent hot rate & was able to play between storms
What a steal at $45 with the coupon! Course was in great condition and was able to sneak in 18 holes between storms.
Hard upgrade
It's been awhile seen I've played this course, like a very very long time so its difficult to compare the improvements that may have been made. However, they have mostly relatively tight fairways in good conditions. Bunkers throughout the course we're in really good shape and was actual sand which was nice. Greens are in good condition and alittle fast which is what I prefer personally. Only thing for me that was an issue was the pace of play. I always walk and I felt like everyone that was behind us in a carts were playing speed golf. Oh well, if you haven't played it recommend you should.
The Course was in Great Shape
First time I have played Blackhorse South in over 20 years. The course was in great condition and very scenic. Pretty challenging for a someone getting back into golf like me, but we all enjoyed our round!

Course was in great condition and pace of play was excellent too despite cart-path only.

Excellent course with great staff. Only negative is pace of place can benefit from improvement. Will definitely return.
Great Course
Great course layout. Loved the track. Scenic. Greens weren’t to fast or to slow. Loved it!
Way over priced
Charging $140 a round is outrageous for the quality of golf course in Houston. The staff is very rude, the snack shack sells week old sandwiches that are disgusting.
I will never go back
Overall good experience
Staff in club house was not that welcoming, however the course staff and course were really nice. Pace of play was a bit quick as we finished our round in 3hr 20 min thanks to some golfers behind use pushing us along. Would definitely go back.

Very good course layout and the condition was good, except for the bunkers, that seem to suffer from water compaction.
