Flamingos Club de Golf
About
Opened in 1978, Flamingos Gofl Club was the first golf course in the Bay of Banderas and it has since become a local favorite. The course sprawls across a landscape covered with over 1,500 palm trees. There are also hundreds of different trees, including parota and eucalyptus, that frame the challenging greens. The narrow, subtle sloped fairways provide scenic paths that weave through the natural lagoons, estuaries, and marshes. There are nine water hazards and over 40 bunkers that come into play throughout the golf course. The layout will test your target golf skills and good strategizing will be greatly rewarded, which includes not only your ball placement on the fairways but also proper club selection, especially on the holes that are more affected by the strong coastal breezes.

One of the better golf values in the area:
Course is still a little pricier than I am used to. Good to see that they are finally realizing that reduced prices = more golfers.
Very different golfing, grass is so thick and lush you get no roll at all.
Always a good day!
The course was in great condition, and the round was just over 4 hours.
Loved the course
My only complaint about the course was the fact that we were not told in advance about having to pay over $30USD for a caddy for the day. The rates were reasonable and we knew about the cab ride from the Marina but the caddy was a surprise and very expensive. Don't think I'll be back next time.
Holly
Flamingos Vallarta
Oldest course in Vallarta. Nice track - challenging from the whites (6300 yards) and really tough from the blues. Greens run true but not fast. Played four times before my back objected. Had caddies Saporino and Manuel (3x). Easy to get on even as high season kicks into gear, and access is great from anywhere north of the Marina in Puerto Vallarta.
Flamingos is not a bad place to play contrary to locals advice
Tight fairways. Hit the middle and you can score. If you are not on your game it could be a long day.
nice course
the course has very wide fairways on some holes nice layout challenging most of the times greens were in good shape very nice course overall.
Good Day of golf
Course had just had heavy rains for two days the carts had done some damage and the fairways had been cut to short and with the rain it was some times like hitting of a cart path. The greens generally were in good shape. Beautiful day and the wild life was entertaining.
The course was excellent
Amazing day of golf
Excellent all round, great employees and awesome atmosphere
Flamingos
I thought this was an average course was a bonus seeing the some of the lizards running around.
Glad I did not have to pay 120 usd, would play for half the amount anytime.
Fun, old course, but make sure you stay hydrated!
Went out to play Flamingos after I got a good price on GolfNow. I went out early for my 12:30 tee time and played the front 9 in 80 minutes. The course is in good shape but with the recent rains the greens were incredibly slow.
Even after I paired up with another single on the back nine, we played in 100 minutes so overall it took 3 hours to play this course.
Has some character to it, but with 90F heat and 90% humidity make sure you drink a lot of water! Will most likely play this course again the next time I am down in PV.
DIDN'T EVEN PLAY
We were staying in Paradise Village last week. One week prior I had booked a screaming deal at Flamingos - $49/ea for a 3:30 tee time. The cab ride from the hotel was about 10 bucks (USD). The reservation said that a free shuttle would be provided, but I later learned that this was only the case in the high season. My dad was going to play with me, but had planed to use my clubs. THIS IS NOT ALLOWED AT FLAMINGOS. They said if he were to play, he'd have to rent clubs ($60). We decided that the overall price was not worthwhile and decided to maybe just hit the range - wrong. The price of this was $26 each. We came to the conclusion that the pool was a better option for the day. I really don't understand the pricing at these courses. We flew Alaska and paid $25 to bring the clubs each way.
Here's a little breakdown of the real cost to play:
Alaska Baggage Fees (clubs): $50
or
Rent Clubs from Flamingos: $60
Transportation (low season from resort area): $20
Transportation (low season from Vallarta): $50
GolfNow HOT deal (BEST price): $49
BRING YOUR OWN CLUBS TOTAL: $119+ ea
RENT CLUBS TOTAL: $129+ ea
We were really disappointed that the staff wouldn't make an exception for sharing clubs. Remember, this was in the low season at 3:30 pm with a temperature of 100+ F.
Consider the pricing before you book your next round in the Puerto Vallarta area.
Next year I won't even bring my clubs.
GolfNow gold
I was interested in playing with my brother-in-law while on our 1 week stay on PV and were discouraged about the prices found on line. I recalled using the GolfNow app while in Hawaii with good results. I found this on the site and thought it would be worth a try for $59. The course was in great condition and was a real challenging course for a couple of amateurs. After a bit of rain, we got started in the mid-afternoon. While it was a bit steamy, the course was very tranquil and very relaxing. The water (watch out for the alligators!) and heavy local landscape ate a lot of our balls. The local crew must have watched us play and offered some used balls at a heavy discount. All in all, we had an enjoyable round with good service and excellent grounds.
Flamingo GC review
The course is 'cute' but far from spectacle. Moderately well kept/in good condition all around but greens was not 'fresh' cut. Many fruit trees for the tasting while golfing. Club house and range are very basic. Did not appreciate certain 'golf'-policies imposed to maximize revenues but that could be said for many other places too. The staff seemed very nice however. The club is trying hard to make it work.
Great place to play
Wide open. Fast play. Nice staff. Going to play again with my son a beginner.
Great Caddie
We really enjoyed our round. Manuel was our caddie and he gave excellent advice on course as well as golf tips. Ask for Manuel if you play this course.
A jungle adventure
This is without a doubt the best value for golf in the Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit region. The oldest course in Riviera Nayarit has a classic old soul. It's not over-bunkered like so many new modern designs. The challenge comes in navigating the ups and downs of the rolling terrain. Hitting it straight is required to stay out of the jungle and avoid the croc-filled ponds. There are a few really narrow spots, especially the par-5 15th hole. Ponds on several of the par-3s add a scenic touch. It's a peaceful place with no homes or roads to distract you. It might not be as manicured as other area courses but an interesting routing makes up for any minor scruffy spots.
Flamingos
Great course had a great time the staff were very friendly
Great Round of Golf
Good course, great condition, good value. Unfortunately there wasn't a refreshment cart supplying golfers on the course and club rentals (new Taylormades) a couple sleeves of balls & a glove cost over $140 (more than the green fees & a cart....).
Beautiful layout
A beautiful course layout and nice way to spend some time. Friendly staff and well maintained course. Could stand to have the greens rolled as they were reasonable speed but the ball bounced around a bit and didn't always hold the line. Watch out for the wind. Had 20+ mph in the afternoon and made for a grueling back nine. Only worth playing at the golfnow discount rate.
Nice experience with discounted green fees
Played Flamingo on Apr 4 2014. Weather was nice (sunny, not too hot). Booked at about a 50% discount through GolfNow. First time using GolfNow so a little worried but pro shop had our booking and check-in was easy - will definitely try GolfNow again. Practice range hitting areas and balls were a little rough but ok for quick warm-up. Course layout is very nice and reasonably challenging with a variety of hole layouts and hazards. Tee boxes and fairways were nice and well-groomed, but the greens were a bit shaggy so a little tough to putt. For first-timers (as many would be at a vacation golf course) a little more information regarding hole layout at each tee-box would be good. Overall a nice experience for the price at a 50% discount, and would play again (at discounted price).
Typically at any "good" golf course you cannot share clubs. So there is free shuttle during December? Is that "high" season?
