Flamingos Club de Golf
About
Opened in 1978, Flamingos Gofl Club was the first golf course in the Bay of Banderas and it has since become a local favorite. The course sprawls across a landscape covered with over 1,500 palm trees. There are also hundreds of different trees, including parota and eucalyptus, that frame the challenging greens. The narrow, subtle sloped fairways provide scenic paths that weave through the natural lagoons, estuaries, and marshes. There are nine water hazards and over 40 bunkers that come into play throughout the golf course. The layout will test your target golf skills and good strategizing will be greatly rewarded, which includes not only your ball placement on the fairways but also proper club selection, especially on the holes that are more affected by the strong coastal breezes.

Return, you bet!
The course is in good shape and has subtle challenges from tee, fairway and green. Designers used the terrain well and the challenges are subtle. The greens are consistent, undulating and pin placements tough. Staff are friendly and easy going. What more can you say... a pleasant day of golf.
This course has it all.
This was my second time playing this course. The first was by myself and as we all know a new course has enough challenges even when with others.
I found that this course is suited to players of all skills, talents and ages.
On the most part, I guess as with most courses, accuracy out-weighs distance. Here I would say that there is a great balance of sand and water hazards. There are even some holes where the wind really seems to play a large part in making again, accuracy more challenging. This is where experience (or should I say the lack of) shows. Take extra balls.
Overall I totally enjoyed playing at Flamingos and when I go back home to Canada in a week I will be proud to say that I played this course.
scenic and great value
Tee times kept on time and staff is great. Course always in good shape and perfect for vacation golf.
Fun course while on vacation
My step father and I played this past week and had a great time. It's not the hardest or most overly manicured course, but it had nice inviting fairways and it was very pretty. There were a lot of leaves out there in several areas, but the greens and fairways were mostly pretty clear.
We played as a pair so we didn't have to take a caddy, but they will make you if it's a foursome. Maybe even with 3, but I don't recall. Cart fee is included in the cost. The rental clubs were all in great condition.
We couldn't get a time at the Mayan complex, where we were staying, but this was not far away, and getting a time was easy, even though this is the busy season. We played in the afternoon, but we didn't run across many other people on the course, which was nice not to feel pressured from behind when digging through the brush :)
We saw lots of different bird types and even a pretty huge turtle out on one of the water hazards. Also at one point, a couple of the groundsmen let me pick a lime off one of the trees that I promptly squeezed into my beer. All marks in the plus column.
All in all, we had a great time and would go back again.
Amazing but
We only saw a cart girl up until the 8th hole and then nothing. We even asked a Marshall to radio in to get someone out to us on the 15th but no one ever showed up.
The back nine was pretty full so if everyone experienced this lack on service then my only comment is that the course lost quite a bit of additional revenue!.
This will not deter me from playing this course again because it can stand up to any course I have played around the world.
Good course
Friendly staff good value course was in good shape
Très beau terrain
Terrain en excellent état, les Green sont très bien entretenu et le décor est féérique.
Go have fun, but get good price
Good course. Not worth $150. Look for deals. Nice layout. Find the ocean for drives and putts. Have a lot of fun. Good partner will make the difference
Scenic & challenging
This is the best deal in Vallarta without question. Besides the great course in excellent condition the beers are only 20 peso's and they serve you on the course! It is the most reasonably priced course in PV and you definitely will not be disappointed!
Lots of hidden costs
I do have to say the course was beautiful. However, there were so many hidden costs. To start the green fees were higher than expected. The range was closed(suppose to be included). We were forced to have a caddy. We had to skip three holes ( course condition). Lastly, we we're suppose to have transportation back to our hotel and none was given.
Rudeness never gets you anywhere
My daughter and I played the course twice over a three day period of time where we experienced heavy rain on the course itself and days later.
Unlike El Tigre the staff at Flamingos could not have been nicer or more accomodating. With several tee boxes to choose from the course was challenging especialy the par 5 7th replete with a 10' active alligator.
There were no marshalls on the course which was a problem both days we played: on the first day several locals playings as singles treated my foursome as unwanted guests acting as if THEY had priority. On the 2nd day the two groups in front of us were below average in ability which held the entire course up and yet there was no relief offered.
As for ground transpo, yes Flamingos is not as convenient to town central as El Tigre is so the cab fare for us was $10 + tip. We had a bus take us back to the hotel the first time but they don't offer the same free ride on Sunday's
DGY
RENTAL CLUBS WE NOT IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND CHOICE OF CLUBS WAS POOR COULD HAVE USED A COURSE GUIDE I AM NOT SURE IF THE OFFERED ONE
vg pace course is fun to play very nice setting good value for area Mexico golf
play at twilight/discounted rate , my opinion best value in area. rare to find a true "deal" in Mexico. this couse fairly easy to get on . pace of play vg
No Transportation Back to Hotel as STATED!
The Biggest Issue I have with this golf course - is when I sign up on Golf Now.com it said Return Transportation to Hotel WAS Included with your golf rate. However, upon entering the Clubhouse I found out this is NOT the case! They Do NOT provide transportation back to your hotel in the Summer Months. This cost me $30 to get back to my hotel. An added expense that I did not feel like was necessary. I had a hard time getting the Golf Course to Comp me Something/Anything because of this. This needs to be changed!
THANKS!
Andy
Good value and a good challenge
I really liked this course as it was a peaceful escape--not surrounded by houses like most subdivision courses. It was very pretty and a good layout. Unfortunately the front nine greens had just been vertimowed/de-thatched, and they were dreadfully slow. The back nine greens, presumably, were normal speed for the course, but I found them pretty slow. Generous fairways, which was good because the long rough if you miss was brutally long. That's the only criticism--it was too long. A nine iron was about all I get through it. After 3.30pm they have a $40 rate which was super value for Mexico. I played here twice--even with de-thatched greens.
Great course
This is a fine golf course and we had a caddie (this is a good thing in that the course is long and challenging and the caddie is informative and helpful.
The course is in great shape and the weather was beautiful.
i don't know
I book for the first time of my life with you, and i had a confirmation number 14100840. When i got to the club, they advised us that they had a tournament all day long and that day was not supposed to be booked by you.It was not a surprise tournament. it was schedule a while ago. So I Spent $20 US dollars for the Taxi to get there for nothing. Somebody is not doing his job properly. Secondo ; when i was there, i was told that any days at 15h30 is $40.00 and i Don't have to spent any fees to anybody, i had confidence at you, to have the best deal, so i found out that they were no deals and more, that i have to pay fees for you with no real deal. I AM VERY DISAPOINTED OF YOUR SYSTEM. I expect that they wil be no fees to be charge to my credit card because we didn't play at all and we have to come back without playing at all . I don't know i could refer anybody to your site with this first bad experience , and i don't know in the future how i c ould trusted you for the reservation and and have a real deal.
we played early afternoon and there was no one in front of us. The course is in good shape, staff are freindly.
We played early afternoon and finshed the round in 3 hours. The holes have some interesting challenges with lots of up, down and side hilll lies. Overall a pretty course and decently priced with the playing discounts, compared to many of the courses around PV.
