Not happy with the pace of play
My daughter’s school is having their District Tournament at Sonoma Ranch next year, so she wants to play it as much as possible. Never been a favorite of mine. Pace was slooooow. One par 5 had 4 groups on it, of which 2 were waiting on the tee box. Course Marshalls drive around with their head in the clouds, or are on their phones. Took us 5 hours to play and we were all in carts. Really hope the District decides to move the Tournament to NMSU’s golf course.
The greens were in good condition but the fairways were not. I notice too that since I have played last they are letting the native areas grow.
Nice greens
You can tell that lots of work is paying off! The greens are in great shape! This course is finally getting the water it needs. Just a few of the tee boxes need work. Over all good work guy’s
Not coming back
It's been several years since I played this course and will not be going back. The rough in many areas is unplayable. The fairways have MANY bare spots as well as the greens. I hit several really good drives and never found my ball. Never lost so many balls. They need to spend some money on this course.
Not worth the green fee
This course is not worth the current green fee. With as many maintenance workers at the course, this course should be in awesome condition. Not sure if the Course Superintendent trains the maintenance crew, they could use some help.
Better courses in Las Cruces
Spent a lot of extra time on the course because the groups in front of me were playing from the tips. They should have been playing from the Whites or even the Woman’s tee. Spend your money and your time elsewhere
Tee Box Condition
It was nice to see that they have started to establish a grass hitting range but the overall condition of the tee boxes is very poor.

I really enjoyed my round of golf. Wonderful course and everyone was so friendly and helpful! I will be back soon!!
Losing it appeal
I've played this course for over 20 years. It is usually one to the best courses in this borderland area. The greens were in good shape but slower than normal.
The tee boxes need so weed killer and the fairways which use to be perfect were patchy. I'm sure they'll whip it back into shape soon enough.
Sonoma
Pace of play was decent. The beverage cart came around at a good rate. The course is looking better every time a play it.
