SplitRail is in terrible condition
So, many of the local public courses have had a tough time coming back from winter with how wet it has been but SplitRail has really fallen way behind. Most of the greens are unplayable and are mostly dirt (say 12 out of 18). The fairways are about the same (playable but covered in weeds where there is any grass at all). Really bad. It looks like Lost Creek right before it closed for good and fear it is in the same trajectory.
Bad shape, hope they can correct issues
First group out at 7am, were told flags may not be in holes for first few holes... Whatever, by hole 4 groundscrew had them up. Fairways look terrible, they have bare spots of sand/clay hardpan, reminded me of a Florida course. Rest of each fairway was acceptable, just be aware there are bare spots. Rough is ankle to knee high sticker weeds--unacceptable, just mow or weedeat them, not hard to correct. Greens were recently punched and sanded (like many other courses right now), so they were bumpy but looked like they'll be ok--not great--in a couple weeks.
Staff was nice, no complaints there. Hope they get the course back in shape because the layout has always been great...but you may want to use this course to get swings in and know the conditions are bad right now, possibly the rest of the year.
Continuing to improve! Looking forward to the next couple months.

Great layout terrible conditions
Very friendly staff, nice range and clubhouse, great layout. Horrible conditions. Every green had patches of missing grass. Fairways were patchy at best. With all the rain we've had the course should have been lush.
Rough Conditions
The fairways and greens have bare spots. Bunkers are in good shape oddly. I don't think the course has properly recovered from freezes and hail storms that happened before. I would definitely not recommend this course in the summer when they won't get any rain. They had no marshal and pace of play was not adhered to.
This course has potential but is in rough shape.
This course has great potential could be really fun, however rocky hard patches on fairways and greens are aerated and sandy. Overall greens and fairways are in very bad conditions but could be a great course.
Fairways and greens
The fairways are patchy throughout the course. Number 10 fairway is the worst.
It would be great if we had a warning that they had just aerated the greens…it was luck putting in a beach.
Overall, the course has great potential, but not this year. The fairways and greens need lots of love.

The course is in pretty rough shape right now. Greens rough and bare spots on greens and fairways. I'm optimistic it will be better with time.
Needs work
The fairways were ok, although quite a few bare spots. Not very good this close to prime golf season. The greens were weedy.
BAD
This course is in bad shape right now. The greens were very bumpy. The rest of the course had numerous bare spots throughout. I’m not sure what happened but it’s going to take a while for this to recover I feel like.
Been coming here for several years. Course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it, shame.
Course in very poor condition
Course is in very poor condition , greens were terrible , large dirt patches in the fairways. Not worth 59 Dollars to play there .
