Whitestone Golf Course
About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Too many tee times and marshall nonexistent
Love this course, but seems to be going downhill. Course conditions are good and love the layout, but pace of play on weekends is painfully slow. You need 5 or six hours to actually finish a round. Not going to play here again until they change how they book tee times or have the marshall actively moving along pace of play.
Well maintained and enjoyable.
Well worth the weekday price of $60. Course was in great shape outside of some rough patches on a couple greens and a few GUR spots and one eroded bunker, but they were easy to overlook because the rest of the course was in great shape. You can really tell that they are working hard to improve the overall playing experience and so far, so good.
Golf
Fairways and Tee boxes in great shape, it looks like they are working the greens to make them better, cannot wait to see that.
Friendly staff!!
Greens are open but….
Most of The greens have been redone but they will take a while to become good. #7 is a minefield with literal chunks missing-wth?? Used to be best greens in FW. Not sure what’s happened. Bunkers are still rough filled with mostly dirt. Get some sand please! So much potential and such a fall from where it used to be!
Beautiful course
The changes that were made is beautiful. It’s open and even more lovely. Keep up every thing that you are doing.
Golf
Course was a great track. Cart girl Mia was out standing. Will definitely come back. Thanks
Greens Need Work
There were more hole marks on the greens than craters on the moon. Greens were also bumpy due mostly to the numerous pin holes punched. Not good enough. Rest of the course was fine. Also, HATE HITTING OFF OF MATS AT THE DRIVING RANGE!!!!
Potential but poorly maintained and managed.
First visit to Whitestone.
The course sets up well. It’s a great little layout. However the greens were in very bad shape and being resod. They were very difficult to trust a putting line on. Almost unputtable at times. With 2 temporary greens on the front nine to boot.
Pace of play was awful with no course marshalls alto assist pace of play. We teed off at 12:08 and had to drop off before hole 16 because it was 4:30 and we couldn’t devote any more time to it. We had to get back to family we were visiting.
The kicker is that they charged everyone full rate with these course conditions and temp greens. The guy at check in said the course was being worked on but hey, it’s Spring, then ringed us up.
Find another spot until they get new management and act like a true golf course.
Greens are rough
Greens were very rough, looks like they are trying to expand greens with all the sod on almost each green. Give it several months and it will probably be real nice, love the course usually
Temp greens
Wish they had told us before teeing off there were 3 team greens on par 5 holes.
Also holes hadn’t been changed out in good greens for several days.
NO MARSHAL
Awesome staff, coarse was in fairly good shape, only draw back was the pace of play. We had a group of 5 ahead of us that apparantly decided that the course was a place to give golf lessons, then got to the 10th hole to find out 3 groups of 4 jumped in front of us after eating lunch in the clubhouse. After waiting 10 minutes and none had teed off we were offered to play the front 9 again instead of the staff making the groups that stopped and ate lunch in the clubhouse do so.
Great Course
It's been a great course for several years now. On golf now the pricing is great. I heard they raised their general rates about $10-15. They do now give a small basket of range balls which is nice but on a moderately windy day you can land balls on the 6th hole and fairway from the range when it's on the lower level which is not cool, time to invest in a mesh net. They are resodding the greens on 6, 10, and 16 and have temporary small greens in the middle of the fairway, should be fixed by April 2026
Great course, but….
Whitestone has always been a great, challenging course to play. However, right now the course is going through renovations around and on most of the greens with the collars being cut out for waiting to be sodded. It was still playable detracted from the experience.
