Whitestone Golf Course
About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Worth stopping by
A really fun layout. The greens are fast and pure which I loved. I was really happy to play this course because I have driven by so many times and wondered how it was. The staff are very friendly and the price is reasonable if you go on the right day.
No walking policy??
In the pro shop, they tell you that the price is the same whether you walk or ride. Then you show up to the first tee and the starter tells you that you can't walk. Ridiculous.
Fairways are pretty good, but the rough is either dead grass or hardpan with no grass. Nobody rakes a bunker.
Great Place to play with a good staff
Very nice course well taken care of and staff was super attentive and lots of nice things like cold owlets and cold water on the cart.
So Close…!
Not much to complain about with this course, the greens, fairways, and staff are all excellent! That said, the bunkers are unplayable…and have been for quite some time. This course could be one of the best in the DFW area….PLEASE fix the bunkers
Pretty close to perfect
Whitestone is in really really excellent shape. They have it going on with the course conditions, amenities and value. Staff couldn’t be more friendly and with free warm up bucket, waters on the cart, wash clothes in carts and the occasional beer deal really a country club feel all around. Of course with things doing so well comes traffic and slow play but otherwise perfection for a public course.
Fun Course.!
Hadn’t played here in a while. Had forgotten how nice it is.! Complementary waters, ice cold towels, and apples. Can’t ask for a better 8AM tee time. Course is fun and challenging. Love it here.!
Excellent all around
Really great shape. Greens were near perfect. Did not notice barely any bare spots in/off fairways. Tees were pretty close to perfect. Pace of play was a little slow but we were a foursome of older dudes so it didn’t hold us up much. Value was great on a GreatDeal. Really really good experience. Shame our golf game didn’t rise to the occasion but not at all caused by conditions. We just stink.
