Whitestone Golf Course
About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Very slow pace
Group in front of us were hammered and took way to long on the greens!!! Fairways too fluffy and one or two greens were a little chewed up.
Great for the cost
Paid $28 to play on Good Friday. Great deal. Course is greening up, but still a little washed out and muddy. Good greens. Pace was very good. Played with 3, ahem, novices :) They made me feel like a pro. Worth a 30 minute drive for me. I just hate the Par 5's though......
Thank you very much for the 4 star review! We are happy to hear that your experience with us was worth your drive! We hope to see you back again soon!
Nice golf course
All in all this is a nice golf course. It's starting to green up well following the winter conditions it's been in. Course layout if not overly tough but still a challenge. The greens are undulating and quick without being unfair and are in good condition. The ball rolls true both on the greens as well as the greening up fairways. It's a course I've played before and will play again.
Thank you very much for the 4 star review! We are thrilled to hear that you will play again and we look forward to seeing you!
Decent Track
I have played here many times in the past but stopped due to slow play. Saw a decently priced hot deal so decided to take the gamble. The course was in good shape minus the bunkers which has always seemed to be an issue here. Greens rolled decent and checked up nice. Overall a good course right now and played in just over four hours. Just take a drop out of the bunkers before you gash a hole in one of your clubs from the many rocks in them.

Golf at Whitestone
The course was fun and my group really enjoyed the play. Look forward to playing hole number 1, 5, 6 10 and 12. This course can give great scores and also take away shots if you get careless. Love it!!

Whitestone w Last Minute Golfer
Had a great time. Course was a little brown Bc of the season, but it was fun and challenging.
Second time playing
Fairways are dry like most places. The course is very challenging, very long , very hard at times when hitting off rolling hills and off balance shots. Most the sand bunkers were missing sand. Will play again as its not pricey.
Whitestone
Greens and fairways in very good shape for the end of a hot dry Texas summer. Greens were quick and some hole locations resulted in some challenging putts.
Nice course at good price.
Played early on a Sunday morning so there were few groups in front of us and made the round in 3 1/2 hours. Marshals were out often checking pace of play. Played here over 20 years ago, and course has grown up since then. Lots of trees so straight drives are required on several holes. The greens were in very good shape. Overall, good value for the money. Will be back.
Coachcurry
Very nice course. The back nine are very challenging. I enjoyed the overall layout of the course. Monster par 5 holes!
Clubhouse needs work
Clubhouse needs some TLC namely the restroom but was pleasantly surprised by the layout of the course. We got a little bunched up due to the lack of a starter and people were teeing off whenever they felt like it The staff was friendly. I would play the course again
Course in good condition.
Whitestone was in good condition. Would play there again.
Great Course
This is the second time I have played here. The course is a challenge and is in really good shape from tee-box to the greens. I think you really get your moneys worth at this course.
Interesting
Nice layout but not well maintained. Greens pitted, bare ground and weeds in fairways, bunker sand more like dirt than sand. Do get a nice Texas roll. Too many beer and water bottles in the rough. Garbage containers available at every hole.
Highly Reccomend
Great course!! Highly recommend playing a round here. Staff were great, course was in very good shape, greens were true and the beverage cart came around often.
The course is challenging with good elevation, nice par 3's and I will be adding the course to my rotation.
Great condition
Even with water restrictions, course in great condition. Greens nice. Fairways great. Sand traps needed a little attention. That's no problem, just stay out of them. Played in a twosome in 3.5 hours. Had a fantastic time. Will return.
Great Value!!
It had been SEVERAL years since I last played out here. That being said, I went in with minimal expectations.
Once I arrived, the staff was very friendly and accommodating with my tee time. The club house was clean and well cared for.
Being Sept in Texas, I expected some dryness on the course. Hats off to the Superintendent as the course was in VERY good condition! There were some dry areas as expected but overall the course has been well maintained. The greens were receptive and very quick. It's nice putting on greens where you just start it on line and let the grass do its thing!!!!
Was able to visit with the Asst Pro after I got done and mentioned that I would definitely be back. Can't wait for my next round out here.
On a side note, if you do not have a GPS or a range finder, be prepared as the course does not have it in the carts. You are in your own for yardage other than the standard Blue, White, & Red stakes and some occasional sprinkler heads marked.
Hi Ronnie6393600 - We apologize for the pace of play you experienced. We hope you will come back and enjoy a round at Whitestone!
