Whitestone Golf Course
About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Decent
Exactly what I expected for January golf. The course has a pretty good layout, grass is dormant, greens were actually fairly receptive and smooth. I'm not a huge fan of gas carts, and they removed the GPS, but this course is well worth $35.
Whitestone - Benbrook
I liked the layout, it was challenging and forgiving. Most of the staff was nice very nice and helpful. There wasn't a cart girl. Pace of play was nice, teed off at 12pm, walked off the 18th at 355pm.
Tee boxes- Ok
Fairways- It's winter but even saying that the ball seemed to roll forever no matter if the ball was on the fairway or in the rough.
Bunkers- Absolutely terrible.
Greens- had foreign grass growing in a few which caused the ball to jump off line. I dont think these greens could hold a lawn dart.
I would only recommend this course if you want to play a cheap round. I may give it another shot this spring.
Good time at Whitestone
I had a good time. Played with three others randomly, nice guys. Perfect pace of play. The greens were soft and puttable. Fairway grass was dormant but ok. The sand traps were a little wet and less desirable sand type but playable.
Great course
The course was in good shape considering the time of year. The greens showed a lot of traffic and were OK.
Still needs a lot of work
This course is in decent shape about two months out of the year in the spring. This course should just fill in the bunkers and grow grass in them. Bunkers are never attended. Greens are bad due to strange grasses growing everywhere. Fairways are hard as rocks. Trash everywhere. Play this course if you don't care about course conditions.
BEST VALUE IN FORT WORTH
Played for $17 on GolfNow pricing, at 2:45pm....was only looking to play 9 with my kiddo. Thats what we did, but could have probably got in the back 9 as well.
This course, for the price, is the best value in FW, hands down. Fun layout, some easy holes, some very tough ones. Fairways are in good shape, greens are good/not great.
Only negatives for this course are the bunkers are terrible......should just be taken out if they cannot be maintained properly, and the pace of play is almost always an issue because of certain holes (#7 on the front, #10 on the back).
Bottom line, for under $25 including cart......great value.
Greens need help
Luckily, we only paid $21 instead of the usual $36. The greens had patches of renegade grass growing in them. My buddy and I resorted to playing "in the leather" rules for putting, none were going to fall. Otherwise, it was OK, slow players in front of us refused to wave us past, should have a marshall to help with this. NO CART girl!
fun day
great day out with best bud. course, as usual provided all the necessary challenge, risk & reward.
Great course for the value
I enjoyed this course and have gone back a few times. It greens are true but could use some work. #10 is challenging to say the least. Back nine has some great open view of the adjoining property. We saw two big bucks, doe and roadrunner. The windmills ans wells are great back drops on the course.
fun course good value
Challenging enough to make shots forgiving enough to have fun
Sand traps
The course was pristine with lots of difficult sand traps. Now they have no sand, weeds, and not even raked by staff. "They" also own lost creek and that course in terrible condition.
Bunkers
Your sand traps are horrible. No sand and unkept.
Awesome greens!
The greens and fairways at Whitestone are reason enough to play and enjoy a round! That being said please do not get your hopes up for anything else, the sand traps are non-existent, there are no cart girls or beverage carts, the pro shop does not make singles and pairs join up which causes terrible pace of play and in turn frustrates golfers.
Again, aside from the horrible bunkers the course is great and worth the trip, just don't expect anything else!
Excellent value and this course
Always a fun round at Whitestone. High winds were a challenge on this date.
Great price and fun course
I finally played Whitestone today and it was fun. Very unique layout and loved using all my clubs. I started at 10:21 and finished at 2:00. Hit enough fairways but those greens are fast. Staff has done a good job for mid October.
Good prices
This is a good course besides the bunkers. No drainage, water sitting in the bunkers. I would like to practice sometimes hitting it out. With that said the price to play here is good.
OK course
Play this course every now and then when I cant get a time I want at other courses. The greens are not very true, have numerous small ant mounds . sand traps in very poor condition.
Whitestone
Course was in great shape after the rain. Played true and greens were well maintained. Pace of play was slow, and it didn't have a good/drink cart, but the golf was great!
Bad attitudes
I've never been treated worse anywhere that I've ever played. The staff acted as if they were having to go out of their way just to do their job. I will never play this course ever again. They have lost me as a customer.
