1757 Golf Club

About
Located just a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, 1757 Golf Club is one of northern Virginia's most popular courses. The name comes from the same year that Loudoun County was founded. The golf course is definitely a shot-maker's layout with a diverse terrain that has elevation changes up to 30 feet. There are several risk-reward opportunities as well. Well positioned tee shots will be generously rewarded with accessible approach shots but if you're errant, you'll have to deal with a tough recovery. The golf course is fairly tight so accuracy is a necessity. There are also water hazards on 14 holes and the rough can also be punishing. 1757 Golf Club finishes with an intimidating par 3 that plays over water to a shallow green. You'll need a bold stroke to avoid a watery grave.

Nice condition overall
Greens were pock marked but rolled pretty true. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape.
Over priced for course condition
1757 was a great layout and had fantastic facilities. However $85 for a round you would expect the course to be in better condition. It appears these members never fix their own divots on fairways or greens, and there is no evidence of the staff fixing them either. Good luck trying to putt. The price should be in the range of $50-$60 for course conditions.
Good golf experience
Short but challenging course requires good iron play and short game. Course in overall good shape with exceptions. Bunkers were in rough shape — no sand and traps that had sand were not groomed. Greens fast and roll true but way too many unrepaired ball marks. Pace of play was very good.
Interesting Challenge for Average Golfer
The course isn’t long, but almost every hole has water worked into the layout. Small greens require accurate irons. Still it’s not too difficult for the average golfer.
Disappointed
I play 1757 often but today’s round was bad. Firstly, the pin positions were not consistent on all the holes as told by the starter; Then, the pace of play was horrible took 5 hours to complete the round. Not impressed at all.
Nice course
My biggest disappointment was the fact that for what the course charges there are not maps of the holes on the scorecard or hole signs so you know where and when water comes into play. Because I didn't know there was water on some holes I made shots that I would not have if I knew there was water coming into play.
