Nice course
My husband and I played and found the course to be in good condition. The layout was just average but we did like the privacy between most of the holes. Would play again.
Fun layout
Fun layout, challenging course. Very good condition. Greens fast but not too fast.
One better courses in area
Nice, fun course in Lafayette. Course conditions has always been good. Susceptible to the wind. Look for GolfNow special to make it a good value.
The south wind does blow.....
The Wetlands is an open course and when the February/March wind from the Gulf blows, the difficulty of the course is magnified two fold. I might even clarify that for a short hitting old coot it might be magnified three fold. I only made it for 13 holes. I ran out of balls. A humbling experience but I enjoy a challenge and as soon as I reload I'll be out whacking away.....wind or no wind.
Had a blast as always!
A friend and I played this course and as always enjoyed it... it was a great day for golfing, course was in great shape considering the recent rain and cold weather we had.... we both enjoyed our round and look forward to returning real soon!
The best public course around Lafayette. At times, it gets a little busy because golfers like it.
Great Course
I love the wetlands and play it every chance I get. Great layout and the course is well kept up. They have a friendly staff, and the marshals do the best they can to keep a steady pace of play.
Too hot to play all 18 holes
Course in great shape. Just played 9 holes due to the 97 degree weather.
Course is in Great Shape
Staff was nearly clueless on how to get me checked into the system.
Rained hard 2 or 3 times during the round, but the course drained well.
Would play it again, because of the course, not the people.
Nice Course, Bad Greens
The course overall is decent. The layout is great along with the driving range. Pace of play wasn't an issue and we had 4 of us playing behind a threesome with a duo trailing us. The tee boxes, bunkers and fairways were in excellent condition, the greens on the other hand are in need of some serious TLC. Half of each green are dead. It's hard to read a green if half of what you're putting through is dead, sand and grass roots. Aim at the hole, let it rip and pray the golf gods are on your side. Hopefully the crew will get the greens back to where they were a year ago. Just don't pull a John Daly and choke with all the water around..
The Wetlands Review
Not a bad course, all in all. It's more of a links style, so there isn't a lot of trouble off the fairway, unless you are on the course boundary so favor the other side and avoid the out of bounds areas. There is some water and wetlands areas, but are easily navigable if you are careful. Unfortunately, I find the greens not up to par considering the cost of the green fees. However, it is the best of the courses open to the public, but beware of the price.
Wetlands is our best public course in Lafayette.
I was very pleased with the golf course conditions. The greens have just been punched for the season. The putting is not perfect yet, but I expect them to be very good in a few weeks. The fairways are in great condition. The course is playing very fair. The layout is great. If you're a high handicapper I suggest playing from the whites. I played from the blues and had a great time. The staff is great and the practice greens and driving range are a big plus at this course.
Great Course on Audubon Golf Trail.
Course was well maintained. We will definitely play this course again. Recommend for play with spouse. Fun course.
Nice Course, Good condition
Most of these Audubon trail courses are quite nice, including this one. Lots of shared water, bunkers placed painfully in the way, and good maintainence. It's a good course and there's not much more to say.
Dissapointed
I've played here for years. Love the staff. It's always been kept in tip top shape. It is NOT that at the moment. I hope they get the greens and driving range turned around quick
open course similar to links course when windy
I've played this course thirty times, it is a challenging course every time i play it . the pin placement can really change the way you approach the greens
