Vaaler Creek Golf Club

This course is a little out of town, but is in great shape. We are from Minnesota and play this course when we visit.

The course was in amazing condition. Best greens I have seen in while. I played as a single and it was very enjoyable until the 14th hole where a twosome would not allow me to play through. I was waiting 20 minutes on each tee box. They were hitting 3 balls each off the tee and was taking around 10 shots each to get to the green. They just didn't get it! Overall the course was excellent!

Fairways and greens were in great shape. Some of the par 3 tees could use a break in play or reseeding. The GPS units in the carts were accurate. We did have propulsion problems with our cart, but a call to the pro shop had us with a new cart in 15 minutes. Pace of play was 4 hrs and 30 minutes following a five some.

Great course that makes you use all of your clubs. It is a very fun and fair layout and is in great condition with the winter grass in great shape.

Great day for golf, 60 degrees and sunny. Course in great condition and pace of play was good. Course bathrooms under construction, but no big deal. Could use cups at water stations, overall great day of golf.

You may wonder if you are ever going to get to the course in this development; once there, this is one of the best kept courses for the round value. The touch screen GPS is very beneficial for distances to the natural hazards and course layout. The reports I had heard about Vaaler Creek were merited, the greens were true to the roll and a challenge. Definitely a must play and I will travel back!

Pros: great condition, greens are really smooth; great value; one of the more challenging courses in Central Texas.

Cons: pace of play is really slow, probably related to the difficulty of this course with a high slope and rating; GPS did not work on my cart.

We were the first two-some off in the morning so we got around quickly. The bunkers were somewhat washed out in some areas due to recent rains. But overall, the course is beautiful and well- maintained.

If you have a bad round, look no further than your so-called swing. This course puts the onus squarely on your shoulders. Great up and down allows the golfer to get it close or not based upon your skill level. Settle back and enjoy the ride. The use of water and challenging greens keeps you sober for the entire trip. Enjoy and kudos to the staff. Again, what's not to like?

Course is a little gold mine with fantastic views VERY well maintained golf course! Hats off to the fairway/greens maintenance team!! Play has always been on time our early.

Green keeper , mower, needs to finish with a little care. Many areas of green not mowed. Green surface was nice, take care of it.

Course in good shape as always. They over seeded fairways and the transition to the will be complete within a few weeks. Greens were slow, not sure if they over seeded them. Course is good, for long hitters, it's a short course but you have to be accurate as there are plenty of places to lose your ball.

Greens had just been sanded and fairways seeded and watered to the point that course was sloppy in places and carts could not go off of cart path.

Got paired up with some great folks. Course was in great condition and the greens were terrific but challenging. If you live in San Antonio, this course is worth the drive. Golf carts had great GPS but at times yardage was off by 20 yards or more. I am definitely returning.
