About
Conveniently located near downtown San Antonio not too far from Austin, Vaaler Creek Golf Club has a memorable layout of gently rolling hills dotted with creeks, ponds and lakes. The course begins with a challenging front nine and then eases up a bit on the back nine, but overall it is a formidable test. The greens are tricky and demanding, especially on the front nine where there are some severe slopes and undulations. The back nine greens are a bit flatter but they still require careful attention. The rolling, contoured fairways are lined with trees and there are deep bunkers strategically guarding the greens, but luckily there are only seventeen of them. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are also several doglegs and blind shots if there wasn’t enough to keep you on your toes.

Golf course is fantastic! Great course! Golf is fan
This was first time playing this course. It was challenging with big trees, sand traps and water hazards on multiple holes. The condition of the fairways, greens and course in general were fantastic!
Very Nice Course
Only negatives was pace of play and cart path only. Cart path only kept this course pristine, so totally understandable especially with rain recently. Did see some weedy greens, but did not effect the putting at all. Greens were smooth and true. Very well maintained. Loved this course and will be back.
Beautiful course
Predicted weather showed minimal rainfall. Unfortunately we only got 8 holes in before we had to call it quits due to the rain. If played all 18 holes would’ve been amazing. Hope to get back out and try again with better weather.
Marshalls like Buzzards
I play golf every week. Top courses in town too JW, La Cantera, Canyon Springs. I have never seen so many marshalls buzzarding around constantly. It was starting to get uncomfortable. Non of whom seemed friendly or made any effort to engage in friendly conversation. I could say it seemed as if it were because we are not locals but they were buzzarding everyone not just our 4some so this must just be how they roll. Nonetheless it’s awkward and comes across ill intended. The course itself is a gem and I would play it again. Perhaps they. An learn to relax so their customers can relax as well.
Vaaler Creek did not disappoint
Course was in great condition. Staff was very friendly. Pace was a bit slow but still an enjoyable round of golf.

Beautiful Course
Played this course this past weekend, it is in great shape and is fun to play. It is challenging and beautifully laid out, I will definitely be back for more rounds.

Very Nice Course
This was a very nice course. It was a hike to get there and not a convenient route. I thought it was over priced and the value isn't there to travel that distance. Also,range balls are not included which was shocking considering the price tag.
If you are in the area and not worried about price then this is a very nice course to play. Well maintained and friendly staff. Be aware that it was cart path only.
Great course
This was our second trip in as many years, and it has proven to be a rewarding visit each time.
A very long walk spoiled
Great course, played it many times, however was cart path only maybe a bit over cautious, however, 5.5 hour round is unacceptable.

A slow day
The course is a great layout. Both the greens and fairways are very green. A lit of deer on the course. In fact on almost every hole
Of course thar brings some problems . A lot of animal waste. I mean everywhere. A few shots ended up in the some goodies.
Pace of play is slow. 4.5 half 5 hour slow. I had a foursome ahead of me and they would not let me through..
9 comes back around to one and even with 3 groups wait on the tee, the starter said nothing to the slower than slow 3 some.
So nice course. Great layout with slow play and some obstacles
