About
Conveniently located near downtown San Antonio not too far from Austin, Vaaler Creek Golf Club has a memorable layout of gently rolling hills dotted with creeks, ponds and lakes. The course begins with a challenging front nine and then eases up a bit on the back nine, but overall it is a formidable test. The greens are tricky and demanding, especially on the front nine where there are some severe slopes and undulations. The back nine greens are a bit flatter but they still require careful attention. The rolling, contoured fairways are lined with trees and there are deep bunkers strategically guarding the greens, but luckily there are only seventeen of them. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are also several doglegs and blind shots if there wasn’t enough to keep you on your toes.

The staff was awesome compared to the past
This is the best coarse in the area to play in the past the staff was very disrespectful the young woman that checked us in was awesome this made the perfect round
Hidden little secret
Course played pretty well, only complaint was the greens were hard as rock and some very questionable pin placements.
Great track to play - lot's of challenging holes
Course in good condition except for many of the tee boxes - sparse grass more dirrt

Best course in San Antonio area behind TPC San Antonio. Conditions are great and course is in prestine condition.
Great experience all around
Even with a little bit of drizzle throughout the round that had no effect on how great the conditions of this course were. Greens best, fairways, and tee box’s I’ve played in a while near SA. Highly recommend even though it’s cart path only still an amazing experience.
Good course
Everything good but pace of play. Played front nine in 2 hours and back nine in 3 hours, waiting on every hole, very backed up.
Great experience
Due to county water restrictions, course has been cart path only for nine months or so, but because of that the fairways were spectacular! The greens were perfect and their usual challenging self. Bunkers were good. Almost all tee boxes were in great shape. We played behind a painfully slow group, so had to wait to hit all of our shots - and only had the group behind hit into us only once😐. All in all, a great golf experience despite the cart path only.

This course is in great shape and fun layout.
However cart path only was not very convenient course. It has lot of up and down and split fairways. But fun and worth it.
