Four Mile Ranch Golf Club
About
Four Mile Ranch Golf Club sprawls across a stunning landscape of gently rolling hills. The layout closely follows the natural contours of the terrain and doesn't use any formal bunkers, in their place are white shale ridges called hogbacks. They can range anywhere in height from 3 to 30 feet and they're not even the golf course's only distinctive feature. The layout winds through natural rock outcropping and a number of mini canyons. It's as challenging as it is scenic, though, with several blind shots and intimidating greens, none of which are more daunting than that on the memorable par-5 sixth. This tough green is obscured by huge rocks, testing not only your skills but also your ability to strategize. Four Mile Ranch G.C. offers a golf experience like none other in the area.

Fun
Always fun golf here. Love the views and the weird holes!
What a lay-up
The course was truly a tester of one's abilities... the course is hard but fair if you are able to line your game... staff were great & extremely helpful...
Desert/Mountain Challenger
Found this gem while RVing and first time playing here.
Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Pro-Shop is a single-wide trailer that sells the basics including cold canned drinks. So, improvement can be made there and I believe it’s in the works.
The course itself is in great condition. Lots of elevation changes which I love. Several blind shots so local knowledge is very helpful if you can get it.
I recommend this track if visiting the Royal Gorge or the area.
Moon golf
One of my favorite annual trips to 4 mile. Staff is exceptional. The course is weird but beautiful. Your second round wil be better. I love this place!
Super fun track
The course architect designed two of my favorite courses Fossil Trace and Red Hawk. This is such a fun track and a very unique design. I’d never hit to a totally blind green on a par 3 before. Some of the par 4’s are drivable off very elevated tee boxes. The greens were in fantastic shape and ran true. The pace of play was the best I’d experienced in a while, the Ranger was on top of it. The entire staff was very friendly. The only thing lacking here is a real clubhouse and a better driving range. To me, neither of those things matter. I came for good golf, and this place far exceeded my expectations. Anyone reading this needs to play this course. Make the drive from the Springs and Denver, you’ll be glad you did.
No four the faint of heart
If you trust your club yardage and directuon you can score well on this course. Absolutely one of my favorite courses.
Staff Really Set The Bar!
This was the finishing round for a birthday trip from Florida out to Colorado. From the moment we entered the clubhouse to check-in to the completion of the round this was the perfect cap to a wonderful golf trip. When weather interrupted our round the staff member insisted that we go ahead and get a bite to eat and come on back - he'll send us back out. We did just that. Talk about taking care of customers. This gentleman set the bar by which other courses will be measured.
Pros:
Staff members. All friendly, professional, welcoming, knowledgeable and even funny. They truly enjoy their jobs and don't mind kidding around with customers. Really made us feel completely welcome and appreciated.
Course layout and views. Just amazing.
Course condition - wonderful! Like nearly perfect from tee to green.
Elevations were amazing also. Just a blast to drive the ball with a little wind helping and down into a valley knowing you are going to get a little extra distance. Just pure fun!
Level of fun was off the charts.
Cons:
A couple of areas got a little confusing regarding where to go next.
Not a lot of water jugs on the course. Need to add a couple of more of them.
Summary:
This was the perfect course to finish a wonderful week of golf at. The staff really made my birthday visit a memorable and special one. Clearly they take pride in their course and want visitors to get the most bang for their buck. It is conveniently located near Royal Gorge and is really easy to find.
This course earns my highest marks and rest assured - I WILL DEFINITELY be back!!!
Great course for the money.
This course is treacherous if you can’t hit straight or have no experience of the greens. Every green has bowls or massive ridges orchestrating the approach shot. Overall great course. Fairways were fair and clearly designated. Rough areas weren’t too punishing. Highly recommend.
Great condition - Greens need to be faster
Have played this great layout many times. Fairways are as lush right now than anytime I can remember. Only negative would be that the greens, while in excellent condition, need to be cut and rolled more often to ensure a smoother, firmer putting surface. If this course was anywhere near the Denver area or along the I-70 mountain corridor, it would be at least double or triple the green fee.
Worth the drive
I took my father-in-law here for the first time. He was blown away by the course layout and the views. I enjoyed trying to tell him where the holes where located and seeing his jaw drop in disbelief.
My only issue was the green speeds. This is my second time playing here and again they were very slow. Needs to be cut and rolled.
Beautifully maintained
The course is rather quirky with some unusual greens and blind shots, but it’s fun to play. The greens and fairways are in fantastic shape and the maintenance staff does an outstanding job. The range and “clubhouse” are rough, but the staff is awesome. The price is reasonable and overall it’s an enjoyable course.
Always fun.
Been going to 4 Mile for many years. As the course has become a little more popular these days. Getting an affordable tee time has become a little more challenging. It’s always worth it no matter what you pay. The layout greens and fairways were definitely on point this day. It’s always beneficial when you are able to hit the fairways and greens. Makes the experience much more enjoyable, otherwise you are playing out of the crud. This day the staff were amazing from checkin to starter to the Marshall. Everyone was upbeat and willing to help out in any way. Overall the experience was great. The way I’ve known 4Mile to always be.
Quirky but fun
Considering the hot dry climate, I'm amazed at how nice and green they keep this course. Greens run a little slow, but they're soft and hold. There are a hand full of blind shots where the layout of hole is a 90 degree dogleg behind a berm or the green is hiding behind a berm. Overall I would recommend this course. I enjoy it and keep going back.
GREAT FATHERS' DAY OUTING
Had a great time with my oldest son on Fathers's Day at 4-Mile Ranch. Excellent course conditions and very cordial playing partners. A Great Time!
Paradise in the desert
This course will challenge the best golfers. Though, one of the most fun courses I’ve ever played. The architect that built this course is a genius. Great job Jim!
