Four Mile Ranch Golf Club
About
Four Mile Ranch Golf Club sprawls across a stunning landscape of gently rolling hills. The layout closely follows the natural contours of the terrain and doesn't use any formal bunkers, in their place are white shale ridges called hogbacks. They can range anywhere in height from 3 to 30 feet and they're not even the golf course's only distinctive feature. The layout winds through natural rock outcropping and a number of mini canyons. It's as challenging as it is scenic, though, with several blind shots and intimidating greens, none of which are more daunting than that on the memorable par-5 sixth. This tough green is obscured by huge rocks, testing not only your skills but also your ability to strategize. Four Mile Ranch G.C. offers a golf experience like none other in the area.

Fun experience
Drove over a hour to get there, wasn’t disappointed. Staff were extremely friendly, fun layout and overall enjoyable. Worth every penny. Will play again.
fun layout
rolling hills and desert hazards make for an interesting challenge! some very large greens with steep backstops are tempting to hit but planning approach shots is key to avoid 50 foot putts with extreme elevation change. a few blind shots, including 2 hidden greens. course is in great shape except for a few spots on maybe 2 greens. driving range is bare bones and no real clubhouse, but i love this course and can’t beat the value on a Hot Deal.
Best Value on the Front Range
This is a FUN course! You'll need a cart as it's long and hilly, and the holes are sometimes spaced quite a ways apart. But you'll find that 4 Mile really is a blast. The fairways and greens are usually in great condition and the scenery is really beautiful. You'll find lots of elevated tees and wide fairways. The greens can be especially tricky with lots of big, multi-level surfaces to punish errant approach shots. There are a few blind approaches, but those greens are more forgiving. Be sure to pack your own snacks and drinks as there isn't any drink cart service or snack bar.
Dollar for dollar, this is the best value for your golf dollar on the front range.
Quick round
Course was in great shape
Weather was a concern but they let me get out early and got around pretty quick
Fun course
Super fun course with unique layouts, blind shots, and lots of elevation changes. It can be a bit challenging to navigate your first time there even with a GPS apps, it’s still very fun. The greens were a bit shaggy when I was there, resulting in varying speeds of the greens and not rolling the most true. With a little extra maintenance, though, these can certainly be improved. It would make this course a 5/5 rating for me.
Fun round
Got paired with another married couple, who also were from COS. Course has greened up nicely.
Greens were a lil furry and lumpy following aeration a couple of weeks back.
Always a fun outing in Canon City. Will be back soon.
Mixed feelings about this course now
I have been playing here for the last 12 years and it has always well worth the almost 2 hour trip driving from Denver. The staff are wonderful, the course layout is a lot of fun and the conditions have always been good.
I was shocked this time to see what poor condition the course is in. The greens were terrible with a lot of bare areas, uneven surface and even the fairways looked like they had experienced very little maintenance.
I know it takes a while for the course to come back after winter but this was just neglect. The price is also $10 more than last year and apparently they are now charging full price as if it were summer conditions.
I still had a good time. Like I said, the staff are wonderful and I enjoy playing with the locals, who are super friendly.
I understand the course is under new ownership. I hope they are capable of maintaining the course and keeping it up to the standards it has always been known for.
Nice Outing
Always a fun visit. Staff are very nice. Greens were furry, but aerated a couple of weeks ago.
Highly Recommend
Incredibly fun greens, interesting layout, and spectacular views
scenic and challenging course
We always enjoy golfing at 4 Mile golf course. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the scenery is beautiful, and the course offers a challenge every time. My husband got a hole-in-one for the first time on Hole 7! You do need to bring all of your amenities, IE food and beverage, because there is absolutely nothing offered. I understand that there is a new owner who will hopefully improve the pro shop and offer food and drink.
Getting Better
The front 9 was in good shape. The Back 9 had more recent aeration but should be in good shape by the end of April. They were actively attending the back 9 greens so it wasnt really difficult. Would play again before end of April.
Was planning on playing here Monday 13th with my Dad for the first time. Skip? Was it that bad? I can stop at Fort Carson and play instead, it’s always in good shape. Just wanted something different.
