Excellent Course Conditions, Horrible Pace of Play
Negatives: No Marshall, no starter, no cart girl (she was there and left). Personnel in clubhouse were indifferent when they saw it was a Hot Deal. Cart did not work properly. The twosome in front played multiple balls every shot. Tried calling the clubhouse to complain multiple times and no one answered.
Positives: Course was in fantastic shape and greens were fast. Weather was windy which added to the challenge of the course. If the pace of play had been normal, it would have been a great day.
Great Golf Course
Beautiful course in the Mississippi River Delta. For the price, it's as good as it gets in the south.
Great Course Great Day
My wife and I played on a Saturday evening. Just beat darkness on 18 holes. Some of the best greens ive hit into or putted on in the south.
Course should have been closed
I brought my Nephew to play this course that I had bragged about how nice it was. We got there from an hour away and the course was loaded with 6 to 8 golfers on most every tee box for a college event all walking. They should not have been selling tee times behind this event. Should have closed the course. We should have easily finished with time to spare based on when we teed off. It was 10 to 15 minutes between shots after just a couple of holes. It was awful. At one point we waited 18 minutes on a tee box. Worst golf experience I have had. We walked off the course. Extremely disappointed.
Need help with the bunkers but other then that it was in pristine shape. Also need to let certain groups to let twosomes play through especially the three sixums who were playing slow.
Great shape
Greens were in excellent shape. Fairway and tee boxes were first class.
Amazing course
Second time playing. Use an app to know the hazards and this will be your favorite public course in the region.
Staff always friendly
Food was great
If I lived closer it would be my go to course
Jury is still out on this precious resource
Tunica National is a course in flux. There's been a change in leadership from a true pro golfer who was all about golf to a new kind of leadership, and the jury is still out on what Tunica National will become. The course was in excellent shape today for the most part, although they don't seem to be caring for the sand traps like they used to. I can't remember a time when the bunkers were playable out there, and they always used to be playable. But it's still pretty lush and the greens are still excellent. Rolling pretty quick right now but not as fast as they make them from time to time.
I do like the new people working the pro shop desk - they seem to be much more engaged and friendly to the golfers than some of the people before.
There are some changes going on, so far cosmetic and personnel, so the golf remains strong. I'm sure prices are about to go up a lot - it will be very interesting to see how this affects the property. It could scare away all the golfers and lead to it's ruin, or it could transform it into an even higher quality venue than it already is. I'm just hoping not to lose this precious resource
