From the Mississippi Gulf Coast to the delta, Mississippi is home to a number of really good public golf courses.
GolfPass releases a Top 10 Public Golf Courses in Mississippi every March thanks to YOU. We create our annual Golfers' Choice lists by curating the reviews submitted by everyday golfers. We use GolfPass' Ratings Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's subcategory averages.
Each course needed at least one review and at least some public access to qualify. The two courses at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club - which are part of Pearl River Resort - didn't receive any reviews to qualify. Neither did The Preserve or Fallen Oak. If you think they below on this list, make sure to review them on GolfPass after your next round. Mossy Oak just missed the cut.

Ole Miss

What they're saying: "I have played the Ole Miss golf course many times from 1976 to the present day! I last played in May of 2024. It was much harder to play back in the 70’s, and I was much younger and a better golfer back then. It is an incredibly good golf course with wide fairways, trees, and challenging greens. There is very little flat ground and that is what makes Ole Miss golf so much fun. The long ball folks will have fun, but this course will test your short game! Yes, I am an Ole Miss alumnus and if I did not live 2400 miles away, I would play the Ole Miss golf course every day! In May 2024, the course was under low clouds and damp. The fairways were rolling slow, but the turf was nice, and the greens were smooth. I shot eleven over par, at 66 years old and my handicap is fourteen, I was happy!" - mebryne57 -

Tunica National Golf Course

What they're saying: "Nice fairways and greens, practice facilities were very nice as well. This is a challenging course, but you have a lot of options as far as tee boxes, so you can play to your level yardage-wise. The rough was fairly deep, so you really need to follow your ball off the tee. But this course is a joy to play!" - mlovelady -

What they're saying: "Fun track with lots of forgiveness off the tee. Rough will get you though, and if you hit in the trees, 50/50 you're finding it. Enjoyable with some challenges. Good time.
