Tight Course
This course was a very small and tight course related to the short part four, and the greens were very small. The course did not have a very good option to see how it was laid out, and it was difficult to know where to hit the ball with the short power fours. If you are a golfer who is not consistent with a three wood or driver off the T you will most likely be hitting a Long iron into the fairway to set you up for your next approach shot. There was no one out on the course so it was nice to play and not feel rushed. The greens were in good shape, but very slow. If you wanted to pay the extra a few bucks instead of going to a driving range to work on your short game, this would be a very good option.
Par 3 course basically.
A short, executive course. The greens had been punched and were nearly impossible to put on. Wish Golf now would’ve let me know that before we reserved our tee time. Still had a nice time with my son. Hardly anyone on the course by the time we teed it up.
Tough and beautiful
This is a beautiful though very challenging course. Accurately is key as there are homes lining every fairway and water on most holes. Greens have a lot of slope, most of them elevated and crowned in the middle. Fun place to play
Sabal
Tight course but well groomed and well manicured greens
Wow Day
What a day. The course is excellent. Very challenging. I have not played such a course before. Course is well layed out. Lost of water and tight fairways. I would definitely play this course again.
Questionable procedures
This course continues its less than friendly policies to golf now customers. They refuse to let you tee off early even if there are open times ahead of your tee time. Most annoying and feels very unfriendly is not allowing you to put your clubs on the cart until 15 minutes before the tee time. Staff politely inform you of this, but why? This practice has been going on for years now. We play a variety of courses in the area, no other course uses this approach.
Where do other golfers come from and go to. At least 2 groups of 2 players appeared behind us for 3-4 holes, then disappeared. One 2some passed us, played 2 holes then disappeared. Members must be coming onto the course as they please. Made it difficult to judge our pace of play.
Reviews over rate this course
As a Scratch golfer thought we would try another par 60 course to work on the iron game. Save your money and time as this course is cut out of a retirement community as an after thought. Every green is crowned, some are mini putt, yes they are quick, no grass on tee blocks which are all crowned with no flat lies. A very poor course layout, greens which are not real golf greens, and tee boxes which are aweful.
Best part of Sable Springs is the Pro Shop staff. Very professional.
Course is not rated to enter scores in GHIN
Overall, the course is in great shape except tee boxes are very worn and uneven. Challenging course with a lot of water and sloped greens. Would have played it again in a heat beat HOWEVER, it appears that they are no longer a “certified” course. Unable to enter scores in GHIN so I’m guessing their slope and rating have not been reviewed. Play it if you just want to have a good time.
