About
The setting at the 6th green is spectacular. Designed by architect Yves Bureau and perched at the edge of a cliff, it overlooks the town of Port-en-Bessin and its boats. It offers sweeping views of the artificial harbor of Arromanches and the Longues-sur-Mer gun batteries — enduring remnants of the D-Day landings.
The sea comes into view on the 1st green, a long par 5 played into the wind; on the 2nd, a superb par 3 aligned with the Vauban Tower; naturally on the 6th; from the tee of the 7th, a long par 4 that turns its back to the coast; and again at the 9th green, whose tee is set just behind a water hazard. The deep blue of the sea and the lush green of the bocage dominate this course, inviting golfers of all levels to fully enjoy their passion.

Pretty course that stands out on the front 9
Omaha Beach La Mer is a really nice-looking course with all sorts of different challenges for the first 9 holes (where "La Mer" is visable). Once the turn is made, the holes become flatter and a little more generic, so if you only have time for 9 holes, make sure to play 1-9.
Beautiful Place
We did the sea site, first 9 where great second 9 are "standard", could lie on every golf course. The greens where perfect, fairways need a little bit attention. The course it self is really perfect, with a lot of history.
Nice Course near Omaha beach
OB is a nice course with some challenging holes and nice views of the channel. They have a great restaurant but the showers are in need of renovations

Easy and flat but memorabele!
Excellent service and perfect condition of the course. It’s the easy 18H of the two courses. Relaxed and not crowded. It fills one with sadness for all the loss of lives while I now just play golf on the same spot.
Wide fairways and perfect greens
La Mer is an easy to Play 18H course. It was absolutely not busy so I could take the time to enjoy the surroundings and take some pictures. You can easily walk because the course is rather flat. I enjoyed it very much.
Relaxed and easy
The course “mer” is an easy to play course. Wide fairways and little or nu hazards. It’s for pleasure and gives great feelings!!!
Omaha beach golf experience
A well maintained course. Beautiful views to the sea and nearby village on few holes.
Clubhouse had good choices of food. Very friendly staff both on restaurant and pro-shop.
A bunker to remember at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France
The Le Mer ("Sea) course at Omaha Beach is one of the trickiest courses I've ever reviewed. Here's why: The front nine is wonderful with several holes overlooking the famous coastal cliffs of the Normandy coast and plenty of hills to make things interesting. The back nine is entirely ordinary. So do the virtues of the back nine mean this is a four-star course, or does the back nine drag it down to three-star status?
The answer comes in the form of a bunker hidden near the sixth green. Not a normal sand bunker, mind you, although there are plenty of them on this beautiful hole. I'm talking about a concrete bunker used by the Germans during the World War II. Now a memorial site with plaques and flags, it overlooks the village of Port en Bessin and the artificial harbor at Arromanches created on D-Day in 1944. The golf course staff doesn't always tell every visitor about it or encourage anyone to stop playing to explore it, but this is one historic spot worth breaking the rules to see. Walking through the underground bunker and taking pictures of the incredible clifftop view is worth a 15-minute detour. We let two groups play through to enjoy one of the most amazing discoveries I've ever experienced on a golf course. I'd recommend you do the same.
Each hole is named after a famous commander - Eisenhower, Churchill, etc. - from the war, so that adds to the feeling that you're playing somewhere unique.
