Second hole, par-3, 182 (blues). A challenging tee shot, yet the hole becomes tougher when you land a good distance from the pin. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

Fourth: The number 3 index, this par-4 or 424 will test your skills from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The par-3 ninth plays 197 yards from the blues. Its green is positioned and shaped like a Redan hole, but without the right-to-left cant. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

Chuck, a good driver of the golf ball, prepares to tee off at the number 1 index hole at Oxford Greens, the par-4 twelfth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The twelfth is named “Double Plateau” for its green, which means that the putting surface actually has three elevations. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The fourteenth, a par-4 of 418 with water on the left, is named “Plead,” and you may well find yourself begging it for mercy before putting out. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

18th, par-4, 458: You’ll need to commit to your full swing (twice) to play a hole tagged with the name “Trust In.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

16th: The short par-3 of 170 lives up to its moniker: “Fortress.” It’s green complex is built like one. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

An earlier, summertime picture taken of the first hole, called “Road Out,” gives a glimpse of a green sided by a road (behind) and a pesky pot bunker. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

The sixth–a.k.a. the “Red Oaks”--is index 13, but will still present a few problems enroute to a drive-and-pitch par. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

“Timberlake” is hole seven, and the hole is all about avoiding the trees and playing some tricky angles from tee to green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

Pleasant experience
Fairways were an A plus, greens A plus, tee boxes sold B. Clearly there are “golfers” out there who take 6 inch long 3 inch deep divots and don’t replace them but that happens on every course . Weekend at 110 a bit overpriced but weekday at 60 a bargain
Cost
No way this course is worth close to $100. I know a lot of courses have raised their rates over the past couple of years but Oxford Greens being $100 is ridiculous.
Water?
Be sure to bring a few water bottles, there’s not a fountain or jug in the 18 holes. Hard to find a flat lie on the course.
A lot of people rave about this course but I didn’t think it was that great. Slow pace of play, lots of unrepaired divots and ball marks, loose grass, divots cover the fairways. It’s a decent course but in my opinion nothing special and not worth the money (assuming it’s not a golf now deal).
Wonderful surprise
Challenging course with a number of long and difficult holes. Fairways and rough in good shape. Greens run true with a few having multiple tiers. Tee boxes can use some new grass.
Great setup and course but
This is one of the best tracks in CT for a public course but they are letting it fall apart. Bunkers, tee boxes and fairways are starting to show signs of disrepair..
How about some water
One of the hottest days of the year, there was not a drop of water on the course. Sand traps also need to be manicured
$100 round???
Greens in rough shape, unrepared divots everywhere, slow
Fairways, divots everywhere, chunks of grass/dirt everywhere
Pace of play, no ranger, 4 hours 45 minutes to play 18 holes
No presence of any maintenance workers anywhere
Total rip off
Great Course for the Right Price
Fairways were perfect, tee boxes very good but greens had slicing evident on most of them, not aerated slicing but smaller lines, kinda weird but still rolled well enough. Water on the course would be nice rather than have to pay $4 for a bottle of water. I brought my own but one of our 4some forgot theirs and had to suck it up. Overall always an enjoyable round for the right price, paid $50 for an 11:36AM tee time on a Tuesday: a good deal.
Hole in One
Greens were scuffed up. Ball marks everywhere . The fairways were adequate, though looked as though they haven’t been cared for all season. The tee boxes all looked as though a herd of buffalo ran through each one of them or angry golfers pounded clubs in ground after a poor shot. The tee markers were broken and the back nine looked as though there was a leg party gone bad going on.
It's Ok
The tee boxes are worn, the greens are fast and hard, still have small aeration holes. A lot of the holes look the same. Used to be in better condition.
Tough Tee Boxes and players with no regard
Tee boxes getting beat up and only Early June. Course and greens otherwise good shape. We had 1:40 tee time. 1:30 no started no group in front of us. Great. Well starter shows up the few minutes later 2 some shows up then starter has to drive over to range to get other 2 some. They tee off around 1:40 and 4 drives all over the 1st hole. We’re a 3 some play under 4hrs regularly. Look at each other yup 5 hours. By 2nd hole the 2 2somes decide they are splitting into 2. Well place which was bad grinds to stop. No Ranger then on 10th one of the 2somes is now behind us too much time at the turn. No Ranger at all. Work on the tee boxes and pace of play to get back to what Oxford used to be.
