Great
The course layout is a perfect challenge for intermediate and beginning golfers. The pace of play is good as long as you are hitting the fairway. No matter if you think you saw where it went, the native grass will eat your ball if you slice or hook. If you accept that you lost it early you should be under 4 hours. If you decide to keep looking you will frustrate everybody behind you and turn it into 5 hours. There are a few short par 5/4 that make you feel like a pro when you birdie. This course is one of the best mixture of difficulty, price, and quality in Kansas City. Would highly recommend.
Falcon Lakes GC
The overall conditions were pretty good considering we played in early December. Pace of play was reasonably good yet groups of 4 were rather reluctant to allow us to play through( we were a group of 2) This might be an opportunity for the course marshal.
We never saw on "Golf Now" any indication they were "cart path only" It would be sweet if GN and the courses adapted this feature to allow you to know if a course was "CPO"
Great course
Fast greens... fairways in great shape
Great value for the market
Falcon Lakes offers a great value in this market. The course offers plenty of challenge for middle (7-14) handicap players, but remains playable and not overly punitive. Fairways are generous, but there is surrounding prairie grass that is unforgiving. They do have some drainage issues, so if it has rained recently, the course can be pretty soggy. Greens are in decent shape. They are not fast, but fine. Longer hitters can have some fun here, with par 5's offering the option to hit the green in two. Great staff, great value.
Excellent Condition
Great course, played from the white tees and may try the blues next time. I'm a bogey golfer and it was a pretty short course on the front nine, back nine was slightly longer. Excellent maintenance from fairways to rough, enjoyable round and great confidence building course.
Great Value
Course was in excellent condition. It's not a real hard course (unless you play the tips), but it's fair. I like that you can see most of what is in front of you, not a lot of blind shots. The greens were rolling very nice and the fairways and rough were in good condition. Nice wide fairways. Bunkers were not in great shape however, and there are a lot of them. The back side is very scenic, beautiful lake. I found it to be a great bang for the buck, just a fun course to play.
Great grass tee to green
Especially for the green fee of $43.99, the course was in great shape and very fair if you stay in the fairway.
Have played here many times over last 3 years and always has great conditions and friendly staff.
A few rough spots on a couple greens
no wind...fairly easy....with wind BRUTAL..LOL
great track...love it...can get difficult with a 15+ mph wind...we had about 25 to 30 and it was 5 shots harder with nw wind...but was a blast
Good course overall
Enjoyed playing, Few holes the greens were a bit tore up. Overall the course was in pretty good shape. The staff did a good job.
I would love to play again
Fun, links style course. Fairly flat and open with tall native grass rough. Due to open landscape, wind was a factor. Friday morning round was fairly slow play. Course was in good shape and had drained well when the weather had been rainy. I would definitely play this course again.
One of my favorite courses
Nice course, nice layout, I really enjoyed everything about my experience.
Falcon Lakes, great shape, great layout
Course is in great shape. Greens were just airated week of 4/3, so they are a bit tricky. Should be good to go in another week or so. Rough is still cut pretty low, which makes it a bit easier. I will play this course many times this summer.
Fun Course
Falcon Lakes is a fun links-style course in a neighborhood/farmland setting. The layout is very generous - open fairways with good-sized greens. There are a couple of longer holes out here, but for the most part you will be hitting short irons into the greens due to the amount of roll that these fairways give up. This is definitely a fun track that has the potential to lead to some good rounds.
Wide open fairways
The course was in good condition for winter golf. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would love to play this course all summer long
Enjoyable course
Not as challenging as some of the other courses I have played but was a very enjoyable round.. Course is in very good shape too bad it was cart path only. Booked it online for about $25 well worth the money. Reminds me a lot of Prairie Highlands in olathe will definitely be back in the spring to play again!!
Heads up
Would have been nice to get a heads up that the course is "CART PATH ONLY" for the remainder of the year.
Course is great
It will test you. The greens were fast and very well maintained. The fairways were in great shape. I would recommend this course to anyone. Very enjoyable and challenging.
Thanks for the great review! We hope you'll play Falcon Lakes again soon!
