Fairfax 3/31
Weather was great. Greens still had a lot of sand on them. Fairways and rough were freshly cut and very short. Overall course was in great condition coming out of the tough winter.
Pretty Good for Mid-February
Fairfax was in good shape coming out of an extended winter stretch. The greens were in good shape and the course was clean. The beverage cart was regularly servicing the golf course past 3:00.
It was fairly windy, so the Blue tees provided a good test of golf for a group that included single and double-digit handicaps. The course is playable, but challenging with a few tree-lined holed and a couple healthy par-3s.
I recommend you try Fairfax if you haven't played there before.
It would be a tough course to walk, mostly due to some very long distances between greens and tees as it winds through a residential community.
Fairfax has a great variety of challenges.
The greens were in excellent shape. We only waited for a max of 2 minutes on a few holes.
BEAUTIFUL COURSE
This particular day was difficult in that we were booked behind a group of 5 that impacted our pace severely. this group never offered to let us play through and we spent each and every hole waiting. It was a disappointing day after spending almost 80.00. But having said that, this is still our favorite golf course in the OKC area.
The Best Course in Edmond
Very tight fairways, and challenging greens. Very we'll kept. The best course I have played all year.
Great course, excellent value
The weather was overcast and cool, but I didn't let that keep me from enjoying a Monday morning round of golf. I found a great deal at fairfax. The checkin process was easy and though there were a few people in front of me, there was no waiting at all. The course was in excellent shape for mid-October. Overall had a great time on the course and would recommend it to anyone.
good condition
Fun course had a great time weather was perfect. Thanks
Nice course
Fairfax is a solid course with combination of moderate and difficult holes. It is well maintained and pace of play is good.
Challenging greens, hilly greens, fun coarse...
Liked the curvy cart paths, good scenery, long fairways will recommend.
Great course
When my wife and I played, we were the virtually the only ones there - we let 2 young men play through on the 2nd hole, and saw no one else until we caught up with a foursome on 18. It was truly Great, and the course is in good shape.
Excellent Course
From the booking the tee time to loading my clubs in the trunk to go home, one of the best experiences I have had golfing.
Excellent value.
Excellent track for the money. Be ready to play; watch out for the first four holes!
Fairfax is a favorite.
Fairfax is a great value. It offers a rolling terrain with more water in play than most Oklahoma courses. It is not a championship golf course but the fairways lies are great and most greens are multi-level. A ton of residential development promises to keep Fairfax relevant for years to come.
Faifax
This is one of the better public courses in the area. It is not long but offers enough challenging holes that require you to make accurate shots.
Course had a couple of challenging holes, but over all was a great place .
I really enjoyed playing here. Although there were a couple of rather challenging holes, the rest of the course provided you with an opportunity to work on your long drives and short ones. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape.
Recovered nicely from recent construction
More neighborhood homes are being constructed on the course and earlier this spring it was wreaking havoc on the course and was not worth a $10 green fee. However, the course has recovered and is back to being a top 3 course in Edmond along with Oak Tree and Rose Creek. A couple great risk/reward holes with drive-able par 4's. The front 9 ends with a monter par 5 that requires a 330 yd drive to have a chance to reach the green in 2; with a north wind, forget it.
Unlike Most courses, the front 9 does not end by the clubhouse. In fact the front 9 ends at the furthest point away from the clubhouse. Because of this, it would be nice if the beverage cart came around more frequently or if there were more than one.
For a course of this caliber, the driving range is pathetic at best, and the putting green is crowded with more than 3 people. Any time you pay less than $30 for this course, it's a steal!
Shot makers dream
This course will challenge even a low handicapper. it is not long and has water on at least half of the holes. Having not played Fairfax before i used a driver on a few holes and landed in the water when an iron off the tee would have been the best choice. The fairways were plush and the course layout was outstanding. It's not a course to walk though, it covers about twice the land a normal municipal course does. They also don't offer a course map.
The course layout offers many different ways to play each hole, to do well you will need to think about shot placement. Higher handicap players will not enjoy this course.
i have only played it once but it is already one of my favorites
This course requires great attention and planning ahead.
Best shape in many years. Course has been updated and cleaned up some. It really makes a huge difference in appeal as well as play.
Well maintained course with a fair degree of difficulty. Loved it.
It is a par 70 course: 5 par 3's and only 3 par 5's. The grounds were all in great shape. I love the location of the golf club. You can find tee times as low as 15 bucks, which makes this course a great play for your money.
