Sure Thing
I've golfed Fairfax quite a few times now, and it is always a safe bet for a fun round... It's in good condition, pace of play usually flows well, and they run good discounts if you are willing to look (and wait) for them. It's not a long course; instead it emphasizes ball placement and you will get punished if you don't land the ball on target with the right distance.
The biggest drawbacks are the lack of bathrooms on the course (only a couple porta-jons), the ninth hole does not run near the clubhouse, and the fact that it's not a good walking course because the holes are spread far apart. However, the good outweighs the bad IMO with the low price, interesting hole layouts and water hazards, and relatively good maintenance.
I'll come back...
Bring Plenty of Balls
I played this course yesterday on my day off. There was a ton of variety in the holes: elevated greens, short par 4's, long par 5's, elevated approach shots....
Overall it was a fun course, but I didn't like the layout out of the course from hole to hole. It took to long to get to the next tee, + there were plenty of blind tee shots.
As my title says, be prepared if you've never played here before, it plays very tight. Much better off sticking to long irons and fairway woods off the tee on many of the holes... i think i figured that out too late!
course is in great shape
Fairfax is in great shape have to hit it straight or bring a lot of golf balls
Well maintained.
Warming up at the driving range, you might think you're in for a subpar course, but the course itself is extremely well maintained for a public course. Fun and challenging course. Fairways are fairly tight, so your score can get away from the standard slicer/hooker. Will definitely play again though (and make sure I have plenty of balls).
Challenging, well mantained course!
Challenging course that will test every club in the bag! Very challenging for 1st time player of course because of lay-up options and sight lines off of tee. 150 YARD marker poles help drive alignment but still need GPS in my opinion to feel comfortable off the tee.
Very enjoyable course that is in very good condition. Greens were also in very good condition. Pace of play was 4 hours 10 minutes.
Arrived at the course 30 minutes early. Staff was very friendly. Course conditions was very good and pace of play was just over 4 hours. Greens rolled true and were also in very good condition. Although not extremely long, we played the next to back tees and the course was just over 6100 yards and played very fair. Par is 36/34 as the back nine has 3 par 3s, 3 par 4s and 3 par 5s. Bottom line, I liked the course alot and would recommend to all my friends.
Very nice
Fairfax was in great shape. Fairways and greens were very nice. A few tee boxes needed some work and were a little uneven but overall they were fine. Staff was very nice and friendly. I will definitely play Fairfax again soon!!
Beautiful course, challenging.
Do not finish 9 at clubhouse and bathroom is a porta potty without hand wash or sanitizer. Other than that, very nice. Ladies tee boxes have nice advantage on several holes.
Course is in excellent shape
Course conditions were fantastic. Greens smooth and running between a 10 and 11. Driving range could use some work. Make sure you have plenty to eat and drink when you leave the clubhouse because you won't see it again until you finish!!! Also make sure the ball washer/club cleaner on your cart has water in it because there are no ball washers on the course.
Very nice layout.
I thought the course was in very good condition. There is still some construction going on around course but it didn't interfere with play. I look forward to playing there again.
Beautifull Scenery will be 5 star when construciton is complete
I have played the course twice and both times it was very enjoyable. There is a lot of construction around the course and one of the holes was shortened due to construction of a spillway. Heavy woods bordering many of the fairways both enhance the scenery and make hitting the fairway a must.
the course was not at it best, but could have been better maintain.
The staff was not friendly at all. The two guys in the restaurant should have been out raking traps, 20 mins for a cold sandwich. A group that came in 10 mins after me receive their food , I asked about mine they through it together, not good. Bad birthday experience.
Great value
Very well-maintained course, with an interesting course design.
Course Plays Extremely Slow.
Course is in need of a Marshall to monitor Tee Off Times and SLOW PLAY!
Nice Track
I have known of this course since it opened, and had heard great reviews, but this was my first opportunity to try it out. The driving range was not really good, the facilities were minimal, the distance between holes would have been problematic, if I had been walking, and some places on the course were under construction because of housing development. That was the bad. The good: loved the overall maintenance, the speed of the greens were good to me, accuracy off the tee and shots into the greens (you had to place your shots to the correct part of the greens or putting was tricky) was at a premium, and the layout was such that it encouraged shot making (punches, high, low, fade draws, etc.). I can't wait to play it again to learn the various nuances. 7.5 - 8 out of 10.
Too much construction going on. It was really distracting hearing all the construction vehicles going when you're trying to hit a tee shot

One of my favorite courses and easily worth the $ when playing on a discount
Course was in great shape except for some remaining aeration holes on the fringes. Greens rolled true and were just under what I would call "fast".... were comfortable speeds. I like the layout. Punished if you're spraying it but a lot of good looks if you're in control of your irons. A great course if you can place some shots and shape some shots. Several short par 4s that you can try and bomb-and-chip (if you have a big carry with the driver), or can play full iron-to-full iron (which is what I have learned scores better for me). Highly recommend the course and worth the $, especially if playing on discount.
great deal on golfnow
played this course for $11 a person. found a golfnow hot deal that was well worth it. I haven't played this course in 3 or 4 years and it was in the best shape I've ever seen, and this was in early may too! look forward to playing again out there.
Nice course
Unfortunately for us, the course is currently going through a lot of construction and had signs down and we got off track. The staff was very friendly and said we could start over and apologized for the inconvenience. Overall, I like the layout of the course and it will be a very enjoyable and nice course to play at a good price once all the construction is over.
Good course but challenging
This is a fun and challenging course with many hazards all over the golf course. Now, there is a lot of construction gong on at the course and many holes are impacted which takes away from the course by having to make 2 par 4's less than that. I think this course will someday one of the best courses to play in the Oklahoma City area once the construction is finished. On a side note, they have the prettiest cart girls in the area to assist you with your good and drinks on the course. That is definitely a plus.
