Good course
The course was in good condition and is fair for the average golfer. Pace of play is a little slow.
Fine
I played the Southwest course. Fairways were in good shape, but the rough was really patchy in a lot of places. Most disappointing were the pockmarked greens. I was disappointed so many players were not repairing any pitch marks. It wasn't so bad that you couldn't putt, and the greens did run well, but it still left an impression on me. The layout had a lot of blind shots so having some course experience would have helped.
It's unfortunately not a walkable course.
Staff was great and I thought they were taking proper COVID precautions so that I didn't ever feel at risk.
Finished in 4 hours and 10 minutes which was disappointing for a 7:12 tee time - was held up at a couple points by the groups in front of us.
South/West is my favorite side
Course is in excellent shape; the staff has really done a good job getting this course back in shape after the shutdown. Check-in at the Pro Shop was quick and efficient; carts were clean and ready to go when we got there. Do yourself a favor when you get there, look for Ben at the starters booth; Ben is 100% professional and will get you on your way quickly and efficiently! My only issue with the course was the foursome we got behind; a group of high-school kids hitting 100-yard drives from the tips and scouring the woods/rough on every hole; definitely made the round longer than it needed to be. Overall, a great value for a round of golf.
Southwest is tough
Course was challenging and pleasing to the eye
We ll definitely being going back. Course conditions were good even
After a heavy rain.
Pace of Play & Conditions
Save your money and play somewhere else! I get that I played on Fathers Day but a 6hr round. Not worth it, greens were in decent conditions but the rough was no existent. All dirt! For $70 it’s not worth the money!
Will be back
Courses staff very friendly and took Covid seriously. Course in great shape, Had food for order and contactless pickup
Too many restrictions
Just too many restrictions, can't get drinks or food without doing it online. Trust us, we are smarter than you think.
Great Layout - wonderful staff
Best staff in the area! Superb Co-Vid-19 compliance. Reasonable pace of play for a holiday. 15 minute tee time interval is something to retain the future- pace of play was relaxed and unhurried. Fantastic layout, with only a few bare spots in fairways
Great Course
First thing you'll notice is that Compass Point is taking the protection from COVID very serious; definitely felt safe playing a round at this course. My only complaint is that they do not let you use one of their score cards. Fairways were in excellent shape; greens were firm, but definitely receptive to a well struck ball. Not sure why they would let anyone walk or why anyone would want to walk this course, the distance between some of the holes is quite long, but to each their own. Definitely would play here again.
great course
Course is fair, greens ok, pins placement challenges
Thank you so much for your review, Jimmy! We are happy to see you enjoyed our course. We appreciate your feedback, and hope to see you back again in the future.
Better Than I Remember...
Out of the two courses, I dislike the SW the most, however I fared pretty well today for some reason. The South nine is really very nice and a great balance of risk/reward holes. The fairways were in very good shape, but the rough was inconsistent and had some run-off wear showing. Greens showed a lot of ball marks, which we fixed as we could. The West nine is ridiculous, especially from the forward tees. There are three holes where you have to tee off with a pitching wedge and then hit a 3W as hard as you can to clear the hazard. It simply doesn't make sense--just move the tee boxes back so it doesn't take the Driver or Woods out of your hands. The best way to play those holes is take a junk ball and dump it in the penalty area, move to the drop area (in front of the junk) and go from there. I parred one of the three and bogeyed the other two! Not the correct way to play these holes, but certainly legal. The SW was in good shape, and I didn't see thin grass in the fairway or brown/dirt spots. Greens were rolling pretty true and of average speed, and the bunkers had great sand.

Much Improved
Haven't played Compass Point (either course) in years because of the poor conditions and the poor design from the forward tees. The North is a nice, traditional design; however, the East is a tad "choppier," especially from the forward tees. Out of the two courses, the NE is a better, more consistent flow for play, but there are still a couple of issues, i.e., they have been repairing the left bunkers on #5 North forever. Get them fixed! And, much like the West, the East has one hole where you just need to dump your tee shot into the junk and move to the drop area. There's a par 5 on the East where the fairway is really choppy and hardly has any grass, but it's starting to come in. The course is in better shape than previous years, but still needs some time to fill in. Overall, not bad to play right now, but hopefully will get better for the next year.
Thank you for another review. Again, we greatly appreciate your feedback and take it into account. We hope you join us again soon.
Ball mark repair lessons required
This is a decent course but seems that a lot of players on this course do not know how to repair their ball marks on the greens. I’ve always had a rule repair yours repair another. Sometimes I’ve repaired more than 4 on a green so my rule is out the window. Anyway overall the course is decent either SW or NE. I’d still play it even having to repair over 36 ball marks in a round :)
