About
Spread across 218 acres, the Ron Kern-designed Purgatory Golf Club is the longest par-72 course east of the Mississippi River. Nevertheless, the course is set up to be enjoyed by all, with six different sets of tees ranging from more than 7,700 yards all the way down to just under 4,600 yards. Bunkering is one of the club's defining features, with more than 130 coming into play. Nowhere is this more apparent than on the par-3 17th, where eight massive bunkers almost completely surround the putting surface.

Purgatory Golf Club
Good layout, greens rough, course wet from all the rain. Greens were not cut which I understand but they were patchy at best as and slow. Good food, wait staff was amazing.
Nice course
Nice course, fun to play. Careful as the pace of play was slow almost did didn’t make 18.
SLOOWWWW
The pace of play was awful! It’s generous to call it slow! The greens were bad to due to recent airation…which would have been nice to know BEFORE the round.
It was slow…miserably slow. People hitting into your group slow because the 4 slowpokes in front refused to move or step aside. There were at least 2 open holes in front of them so ….
As much as this place charges…one would think a ranger may be on course. But…alas…no. Perhaps SLOW play is another thing they do to make the course difficult? It is called Purgatory after all.

Amazing course. A must play. Great amenities, staff and instruction.
Purgatory is Heavenly
Very challenging but a great treat. Course is in great condition, greens are near perfect.
Can you give 5 stars for the scariest course?
Literally a great course but man was it a doozie! Bunker heck is more like it! Bring extra golf balls!
