Super Fun Track!
I had played the other 18 hole course about a year ago but this course had a better layout! Greens rolled true. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. We really enjoyed our round! We’ll be back!
Great course
Turtle run is a great track the course was in great shape I was able to play in 3 hours I was a single had some groups in front of me no big deal big hitters may need to use 3 wood off some of the tees but overall this a fun course to play
You get what you pay for
Good layout. Pretty course. The greens were slow, not cut short.
Players were not fixing ball marks-that is annoying.
The fairways were like roughs at other courses-very tall grass compared to other courses. Tee boxes were beat up. No GPS on carts, but all holes had 150 markers. No Starter, Ranger or Cart Attendants. You could drive to parking lot- a big plus. For the price
It is good- just adjust for slow greens and deep fairways. I would
Recommend when in Sebring.
Great well maintained course!
The course was in great shape. I only wish my game was too.
Better than most
We had a 1:04 tee. When we arrived we found out we had a 1:00 shot gun start. Only one other group on course. Pace of play was as fast or as slow as we liked. Will play again
Beautiful course!
Wonderful course, staff was super friendly, it was a little slower that day so started let us hang back and put and chip till the other group was maybe a hole ahead. Greens were a little slow but that could just be the time of year
Great family course
⛳️ Course Review: Sun n’ Lake Golf Club: Deer Run Course 🏌️♂️
I recently had the opportunity to play at the Deer Run Course at Sun n’ Lake Golf Club, and I’m excited to share my thoughts on this unique golfing experience. The blend of excellent practice facilities and a thought-provoking course layout makes for a memorable day on the greens.
Pre-Round Perfection
Before teeing off, I was impressed by the comprehensive practice amenities. With dual putting greens, chipping areas, and a spacious driving range offering both mats and grass, Sun n’ Lake caters to all aspects of warming up and skill refinement. It’s these thoughtful facilities that get you in the right mindset for the round ahead.
Strategic Gameplay Awaits
The layout of Deer Run stands out for its emphasis on strategic play. Opting for 3-woods and hybrids over the driver, You must navigate the course with precision, aiming for optimal positions to approach the greens. This layout encourages a more thought out game plan, where placement trumps power.
Course Condition Insights
The course is well-maintained, showcasing lush fairways and tees. While the greens are playable, there’s room for improvement to match the excellence found elsewhere on the course. Fortunately, strategic flag placements minimize any impact, allowing for enjoyable play throughout.
Signature Moments
The 18th hole deserves a special mention as Deer Run’s signature challenge. An island green par 3, it demands accuracy and nerves, providing a thrilling conclusion with the clubhouse as a backdrop. A wonderful hole of golf to end your round on.
Culinary Delights
A visit to the clubhouse restaurant is a must, particularly for their Philly Cheesesteak—it’s a culinary highlight not to be missed and adds another layer of enjoyment to the day.
Final Thoughts
With a slight focus on enhancing the greens, Deer Run has the potential to be a standout course. Its engaging layout and challenges make it highly recommendable for those seeking a game that tests both skill and strategy.
Overall a great day! @sunnlakegolf
unusual bad greens
have played here numerous times greens were always great not now greens are bad will wait to see if they correct problem
Greens on Deer Run are a disgrace.
The greens are the worst. The first hole green (deer run) is absolutely brutal and the rest are barely much better. This is the second winter out of three winters that the greens have been in terrible condition. Think twice before playing here.
Florida's best
This course has a fantastic layout, great tee boxes, plush fairways and greens. Great price. Since visiting Florida I have paid much more for public courses I would not even consider playing back home in ohio. I will play this course every time I visit florida
