Chehalem Glenn Golf Club sprawls across beautifully hilly terrain, providing a course that is not for the faint of heart. The course is defined by the dramatic changes in elevation, which can make it tough to walk. The steep hills make this a tough golf course even for high handicappers. Uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies abound and you'll also face forced carries to narrow landing areas as well as blind layup shots. The more open front nine is player friendly and the back nine is where it gets tougher with mostly tree-lined holes and more strategically placed bunkers. The golf course is as scenic as it is challenging with elevated tees and greens that overlooks the surrounding hills and valleys. The beauty and difficulty of the course has built Chehalem Glenn Golf Club a reputation as one of the greater Portland area's must-play courses.

Fun course
I really like this course. It has its share of challenges, there's a baranca that runs through about half the holes. The course was in great shape and pace of play was fine. We played it in 4 hours on the nose.
Challenging
Second time playing the course. Difficult course to score on. Several forced carries, lot of elevation changes and some hard greens. Great condition.

Greens are Slow
I would have rated this course four star however the greens are much slower than the practice green pretty typical at a golf course but night and day between the practice green and the regular greens, very slow!
Great experience! Perfect conditions, even on a hot day.
Consider a power cart…
The amount of hill climbing on this course is a factor in how it plays. The start was on the back nine, which begins with a drive over a huge waste area then a steep climb up the hill to the 10th green. You’ll traverse across that same valley 2 more times before getting to relatively flat land. Hole number one repeats the same descent and climb to a shared green on the opposite side of the course. You’ll descend and climb the hills three more times on the front nine as well. I’ve played this course several times and have finally learned that it just isn’t walkable without sheer exhaustion. It is an interesting design that rewards the straight ball hitter. The tee boxes are all surrounded by lovely flower beds maintained by the local school horticulture program. The views of the surrounding farmland and occasional glimpse of the mountain are wonderful. Greens are a tad bit inconsistent (or was that just me?), but the overall condition of the course was good. Beverage cart came around 4x which was really needed on this 90* day. A great value, worthy of the short drive outside of the city.
