Almost Great
Kings Creek has a lot of promise: A great layout, challenging greens that roll true and a friendly staff. But everything never seems to come together at once. Either the fairways are a mess or the greens are punched or the traps are unkempt. Can never seem to get an entire 18 holes without some issue. Also, the tee times seem to be a free-for-all. Way too often, there is no starter and you end up groups jumping their tee times and twosomes, foursomes and singles scattered all over the place.
Great Layout
Great layout, several fairways under repair, green and bunkers good, just need patrons to rake and fix pitch marks. Pace of play good until we reached the back nine. Several afternoon groups started off the back and slowed the back nine down to snails pace. We left after the 13th hole. Would play again with the right discount due to repairs and pace of play
Staff is friendly but fairway needs to be maintained
Location is good near spring field highway.
Free range ball is good. Staff is friendly but fairway needs to be maintained.
Local Course for me
Course has a great layout. However they allow their members to play in groups of 6-8 golfers.
The condition of their fairways are a 3 out of 5. Greens are great. Tee Boxes are a work in progress.
Winter hammered this course
The course isn't extremely long (my son and I played the Champion tees) but the layout and the sprawling nature of the course made it feel like it. Although the greens still show some signs of Spring aeration, they were OK. But.... the harsh Winter really took a toll on the fairways with many being dirt bare. You'll need a good grasp on how to play "tight" lies to negotiate this course and maintain your handicap.
Great Layout - Fairways need help
Had a great time on my round, and really enjoyed the layout. Some really fun challenging holes, and the greens were in excellent shape. However, the fairways were downright awful. Most fairways had hard pan with little to no grass. It was like hitting out of the Sahara. It was very difficult to hit a clean shot hitting off of hard dirt, and made for the round to be less enjoyable than it should be. I understand we had a bad winter... but these poor fairways were in rough shape. I probably wouldn't go back until they are better.
Bad Winter
The winter got this course pretty bad on the fairways and tee boxes. Greens were in great shape though. Still a nice course and fun to play.
Worst Course in Middle Tennessee
Over the past few years, we have played this course on an irregular basis because of its condition. We would like to play regularly because of the convenient location.
However, last weekend was the final straw.
We paid full price ($52) only to arrive at the first tee and be told by the starter that the course was in terrible condition. Then, to top things off, we were accosted by a Marshal who told us the group in front of us said we were driving all over the course and onto the green at a par 3. Obviously a ridiculous accusation, but I guess it was a slow day.
They act like this is an "Arnold Palmer" affiliated course. If Arnie saw this course, he'd fire the entire staff!
Not worth $50, tee box=dirt patch, $25 is reasonable for this condition
90% of the tee boxes has NO grass, where the tee boxes set up are uneven. Fairways are not green, but burned out. The only decent thing was the greens.
Bottom line, this course is not worth more than $25-30 bucks for this condition. May be in month or two should be in good condition.
Fun Course
Challenge for a hacker but a good challenge for a weekly golfer.
Tennessee got hit hard with the weather !!!
I seems that all the courses in Nashville are struggling with their fairways. Played the course before and it was in excellent condition.
Excessive damage
Course was in very poor condition, fairways washed away, dirt in many areas.bunkers washed away and had not been raked. The tough winter has taken a toll on this course, price should be reduced until repaired and probably not a bad idea to let golfers know of condition when booking T-time before paying price asked.
Golf 4/27/14
Course is in pretty poor shape. Fairways are bare, traps are not maintained, greens were in decent condition but slow. They were cut in the morning and I was told they sometimes don't cut the greens for days.
My favorite course in this immediate area
I'll be back. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Kings Creek
Nice layout as expected from Mr Palmer. Would love to go back when course has a chance to green up. Overall a pretty course that's fun to play.
Good Value
Even with the aeration a couple of weeks ago, the greens were not in terrible shape. Some added sand to the greenside bunkers would be also be welcome. However, the tee boxes and fairways were in very good shape considering the winter we have had.
disappointed
Course has definitely been affected by the harsh winter for this area. Most of the fairways were bare. I expected dormant Bermuda but not bare ground. Many of the sand traps were not raked. Looked like many golfers needed a course in etiquette. Greens had been aerated last week and were not puttable. Never saw aeration with holes that large. Also looked like they did not roll the greens afterward or water to promote growth.
Excellent golf course
This was my first round here and its now one of my favorite courses I've played in Nashville. Not too far away, definitely worth the drive from anywhere in the area! I went on a Wednesday around noon and didnt have to wait on anybody the entire round. Got done in 2 hours 45 minutes! The only reason I choose 4 of 5 stars on some of the subjects is because its March and the grass is still dormant. I CANT WAIT to come play this course again when the grass is greener and its a little warmer. The greens run great, not super fast but definitely not slow and are very smooth. The course layout was awesome too:) I highly recommend this course to people who like courses that are more exciting and interesting than your average municipal course.
Dormant with potential
Unfortunately I played this course during its dormant stage but I can see how great it will be as the weather warms up. I do not recommend renting clubs. The bag I got was a mixed set of sub-par clubs and did not have a 6, 8, or pitching wedge in it. I had a lot of shots that were in-between what clubs were in the bag.
Good balance of course difficulty vs player -friendly round of golf
Fun course to walk, nice layout, great value with access near I-65 and Saturn Parkway.
Package included driving range balls; nice putting green available as well.
