Great Fourth of July round
Great Fourth of July around. Bulrushes in fantastic shape considering the nasty spring too much water not enough sun start Mike and his crew have done a fantastic job given the course in shape will definitely be back probably by the end of the weekend if you have not played this course it’s definitely worth the drive
Hidden Gem North of The Cities
Bulrush Golf Club is aptly named. Set on a mostly flat marshy tract of land with a creek running through it, the course features abundant bulrushes on all but a few holes. Pull or slice your drive too far off the fairway and you’ll be dropping another ball where you last saw the one off the tee. Driving in to the gravel-surfaced parking lot and entering the modest clubhouse, your expectations for the upcoming golf experience might not be very high. That perception will change as soon as you walk or ride up to your first drive and notice that the fairway is smooth and in excellent condition. It will change some more when you arrive on the green, which is fast, subtly undulated, and rolls really true. The rest of the course is more of the same- really well-conditioned fairways and greens, and well maintained bunkers that are almost a pleasure to land in because you know it’ll be easy to hit a good shot out of them. For added variety, several of the holes are lined with moderately heavy tree cover instead of the bulrushes, making it feel like you’re playing a totally different course. The course is a bit of bear from the back tees, playing to a 74.3 rating with a 139 slope and featuring a 625 yard par 5 hole. The middle combo (white/green) tees are a more playable 6,137 yards, 70.6 and 133 slope. There are several very interesting and challenging par 4 and 5 holes on the course, but I really liked the set of par 3 holes. You start out easy on the second hole with a 135 yard tee shot that might play over water depending on the pin placement. The green is quite long and slopes severely from back to front, so if you’re above the hole a three-putt is a definite possibility. The eighth hole requires carrying the creek and marsh and, depending on pin placement, a bunker on the left front of the green. For some reason, this hole seemed to play long and so it’s easy to find yourself short of the green or in the bunker. The green on the fifteenth hole slants away from front right to back left, and is all carry over a marsh and a bunker that again protects the front left. I really enjoyed the round, and the only thing I could find wrong with the course is the location, about an hour north of downtown Minneapolis. However, it is well worth the drive and I will be back.
The course is in great shape for how much early rain we’ve gotten this year the greens are very firm and roll fantastic!! In the wings and quesadillas or some of the best around. Thanks to mike and the grounds crow and staff,Will definitely be back soon
Sunny day golf
Coarse was wet but expect that this time of year. Price has gone up in over the last ur or two. And for what it is I feel it it should be a little lower. Overall, any day golfing is better than working. I’ll be back as usual.
First time was a challenge
Course was in decent shape with several wetlands with a carry required. Not the best for the beginning golfer. We enjoyed the round with the fast greens making putting a challenge. The more you play this course the better you would enjoy it.
Very nice course
The course was in great shape, much nicer than how I remembered it to be earlier in the year.
Didn't see too many people on the course, weather was perfect, had a great time!
Fun fast greens
Woods, water and sand make for a challenging yet fun course to play. Staff is helpful and friendly. The value for the cost to play is some of the best in the state. Well worth giving it a try.
Great course for the price!
Greens and fairways in great shape. Weird layout as 10th green is 3-4 minute rides from the clubhouse. It would be a hard course to walk based on long distances from green to tees, especially from green 4 to tee box 5.
Surprised
I have always driven by this golf course on the way North on 35W, but never new this was the golf course. The conditions were excellent. The greens held well and had good speed. The design made you think around the course as well. We will play this course again.
Course is in great shape, greens and rolling great!!
Thank you Kenlindberg for the five star rating and review! We are pleased to hear you had a fun time on the greens, Hope to see you again soon this season.
Enjoyable course, worth the drive.
Bulrush is more than 1 Hour drive from my home, but worth the drive. It offers a number of interesting holes, especially on the backside. Excellent value and interesting challenge. I would recommend the course without hesitation.

Nice course
First time at Bulrush and it was a very pleasant experience. It was in very good condition and was not very difficult. Very enjoyable.

This Course Is Better Than Ever!
There was a time when Bulrush was more below water than above it. The new super came in and ..... wow! What a difference! This course stands up to any high buck course that exists in the Twin Cities. The greens are quick and perfect. The fairways are lush and green. If you haven’t tried it lately, get out there and have a go. You won’t be disappointed. I guarantee it.
Thank you Lhafele for the five star rating and review! We are pleased to hear the course met your expectations. Hope to see you again soon this season!
Thank you Golf7108 for the five star rating and review from your first Bulrush visit! We hope to see you again soon this season!
