About
Situated in the heart of Chestermere, Lakeside Golf Club is conveniently only 20 minutes east of downtown Calgary. The 18-hole layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy. The golf course is gentle enough for high handicappers but it will still give more advanced golfers a chance to use their skills. Water has a prominent presence throughout the golf course, it comes into play on nearly every hole on the front nine. The back nine may have less water, but you'll have to contend with more strategically placed bunkers, like on the par-3 13th. This tough hole features not only a large lake on the right but also an array of bunkers circling the green. In addition to the course, With all of the hazards you'll be facing, it may not be a bad idea to use Lakeside's driving range and putting green to warm up.

Pleasant golfing this course
Nice for time of year
We drove from Red Deer play this course. We were meet with very friendly and accommodating staff. The weather wasn't the best, the wind made an already challenging course even more so. For a semi-private course I expected more but it was great value for the price, will recommend to friends.
We hope you will return on a day with better weather! Thank you for coming out to play and recommending to friends!
Friendly, well run facility
I played this course for the first time after finding it on Golfnow. Very nice, well laid out and challenging course. Lots of water on the front, choose your shots wisely, straight is good!!! The course is well kept, the staff was very friendly and the starter was helpful with good tips for play. Play was a little slow with high HC in front of us, but not overly. Our three some still had a great day of late season golf. Would love to play again

Great Quality & features for a low price
Lakeside is always in excellent shape, staff are very friendly, and on average the price is much lower than any other course in the Calgary area for this type of facility. The course has a good variety of golf holes which can challenge every level of golfer depending on the tee box selected. However it will meet every level of golfer with a pleasant experience and is easy to walk. A bonus is the beautiful Club House that serves very good food.

Great Course
Disappointed at the snack stand. Girl said the facility was out of relish. That's hard to believe; or maybe she was to lazy to go find some?

Really pretty course and challenging enough that it made me rethink why the heck do I love this game?

Poor Pace of Play and Poor Staff
The pace of play during that day was ridiculous as the course was grossly overbooked. We got a free sleeve of balls, but it felt like we were stealing from them as they did not appreciate our business.

With Groupon Bookings we get many non golfers coming to play, which would result in the slow play. Double charge of GST
I believe that I was charged twice for the GST, Golf Now charged my credit card when I purchased the Tee Time and then the Pro shop charged the GST again.
Other than that everthing went very well.

Hi "topofthehill" Thank you for your review. GST is not included in the golfnow fee. When booking online golfnow charges a 5% booking fee, the remainder 95% is dues at the course which includes the GTS fee. Sorry for the confusion, but we are glad you enjoyed your round with us!

Nice Greens
Greens were in great condition , fairways were flooded in some areas , lots of mosquitoes
Hi "Bob8312976" Thank you for taking time to review our course. Over the last few weeks we have received many rain storms. The course is still a little soggy but definitely draining well. With the amount of water we received this has caused the mosquitoes to come out which is common after a rainstorm.
A beautiful course
The course is very beautiful with a lot of water features (it is next to a lake). Does not play long (6,400 yards of the blue tees) but have very interesting greens that can easily transform a GIR into a bogey (or even double)..

Pretty solid with one golfnow hiccup
Course does not play long I think but it is a good placement golf layout in most cases. I would come out here again and the green fee includes range balls which is nice. There are some rough patches on the fairways due to flood issues I think but otherwise good. Only glitch is the guy in the proshop will want to merge you with another player if your fee includes a cart. He said the golfnow rate only includes half a cart which I did not read in the fine print I guess. I actually prefer walking rather than sharing a cart with a stranger so went that route, but just be aware of this if you are booking in odd numbers.

Chestermere under water golf!
Course was a nightmare. Completely water logged from fairways to cart paths! Literally, rivers running down the cart paths from their over flowing ponds. EVERY fairway had massive puddles. Course still hasn't cut its normal green fees, yet it is in horrendous shape. STAY AWAY!
Hi "Kyle4970602" thank you for your honest review. The day you played, 8/15 was on a Saturday. On this particular day we accumulated 1 inch of rain from the storms that we had throughout the day. The course only had 40 players on this particular day when we normally have 300. So yes the course was under water. With that large amount of rain our course is not able to cut the greens. Great Groupon deal brought us here
Course was quite forgiving, looked quite good, and the staff was beyond exceptional. We were behind a couple twosomes through most of it and finished 18 holes inside 4 hours. Finished 10 minutes before a wild hail storm hit and ate supper in a full clubhouse. Even though it was a league night and they had a full house, our food was done quickly and was great. What sets this course apart was the friendliness of the staff. The girls repairing divots on the tee boxes were social and friendly, the beer cart girl was awesome, and the waitresses at the restaurant were fantastic even with the stress of more than average patrons. The staff on mowers were aware of golfers, pulled over and shut down their machines when required which is a rare find. We'll definitely return and recommend.

Well worth the money!!
Unfortunately,due to illness I only played 3 holes and had to call it quits but my time there was enjoyable, the staff were extremely friendly and efficient, the 3 holes I played were excellent and I wish i could have completed the entire round. The staff were very understandable and gave me a 'raincheck' that I will most certainly be using to find out how challenging were the remaining holes. I would recommend this course to all my friends. It was my first time but certainly not my last, thank you to all the staff I encountered on my visit.

Nice course with a good layout.
The staff were professional and courteous.Golf course was in very good condition,fairways were reasonably forgiving.Majority of greens provided ample targeting area.Personally I would rate this course a 7 out of 10 on degree of difficulty.Pace of play was favorable,overall it was a positive and fulfilling experience.
