About

Holes 18
Type Semi-Private
Par 71
Length 6744 yards
Slope 138
Rating 72.0

Situated in the heart of Chestermere, Lakeside Golf Club is conveniently only 20 minutes east of downtown Calgary. The 18-hole layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy. The golf course is gentle enough for high handicappers but it will still give more advanced golfers a chance to use their skills. Water has a prominent presence throughout the golf course, it comes into play on nearly every hole on the front nine. The back nine may have less water, but you'll have to contend with more strategically placed bunkers, like on the par-3 13th. This tough hole features not only a large lake on the right but also an array of bunkers circling the green. In addition to the course, With all of the hazards you'll be facing, it may not be a bad idea to use Lakeside's driving range and putting green to warm up.

Early Season

The greens were in very early season condition( many brown, patchy, uneven), personally a couple should still have been temporaries.

The course has some wet spots and as a result it was cart path only.

Recommend you wait a couple of weeks if you want to see a green golf course.

short and sweet

This course was built integrated into the neighborhood i.e. houses along the boundaries of a few holes. If your shots are not too wild, it is a great course and offers complimentary access to their driving range with the green fee. Course was in great shape.

OFF HOURS BEST VALUE

Having spent all my golf budget last week as I do in Phoenix in the winter I turned to golf now and found Lakeside in Chestermere 10 minutes east of Calgary. Value was extreme. The course beat me up a bit as there was a west wind blowing at 9 and 18. In the water I went. The roast beef dip sandwich made up for it though. Look out for the slippery floor in the lounge if you are wearing plastic cleats. Worth a play.

Watch out for the 9 and 18 hole. They are a challenge

Great course with plenty of water to keep you at the top of your game. Par 5 holes on 3 and 12 are challenging as well as the two Par 4 water holes on 9 and 18.

Not what I expected

It has been a few years since I played it, and the conditions were poor to say the least. Dry grass, weeds everywhere and just poor fairways. Not going back!!

Great course, awful management

First time playing this course. I really liked it and would play again but not until they get their scheduling figured out. We were delayed from starting for at least an hour. Each tee box we came upon had 1-2 groups waiting in line and we weren't able to finish a full 18 before sun down. In short we didn't get what we paid for, great course, awful management, not sure what they were thinking booking that many groups onto a golf course.

They have water

We really enjoyed this course, the greens and tee boxes are in good shape, lot of water to contend with, and the odd house lined fairway, all and all for the price we paid on Golf Now, it exceeded my expectations.

Downside, tourney out earlier in the day, the pace of play was slow.

Good layout tucked within housing community.

As the name suggests, this course provides a healthy sprinkling of water to challenge most golfers. Mid to high handicappers may find the house-lined fairways a bit tight, but there's still ample room available for well-struck, controlled tee shots.
Some areas of the course still show the effects of the tremendous amount of rain this area has experienced of late, but overall the fairways are exceptional and tee decks and greens are in beautiful condition.
Excellent value with GolfNow discount; rack rate may be a bit pricey though - not unlike many courses in the Calgary area!

Mosquito city!!!!

It would have been helpful if we had been told about the mosquitoes and warned to use a lot of repellant.
