Dunes at Kamloops Golf Club

Quite a scenic course surrounded by the hills of the Thompson Valley and running along the banks of the Thompson River. Nice to be greeted by friendly staff, a well stocked pro shop and a restaurant with a great menu.

I arrived mid morning and found the parking lot starting to fill with classic cars. What a bonus, came for a round of golf and a car show appeared.

A great opening hole, a par 4, dogleg left into a green protected by a water hazard and tucked amongst small dunes. The fairways are framed by small rolling dunes, a few water hazards and a sprinkling of both greenside and waste bunkers. The greens were receptive and rolled smoothly at a nice pace.

Opened in 1997, the course has its own challenges and golfers of all abilities will enjoy themselves.

I like the dunes. First let me say the clubhouse staff and food services is top notch. Food prices for a golf course are excellent.

Our foursome walking played in 3 hours 47 minutes on a Saturday I consider that excellent

Greens were speedy but true

Fairways green, not wet but not dry either

Sand traps had a lot of smaller rocks particularly hole 7 a long par 5

Overall this course is fun to play, a challenging but fair layout.

By concerns water hazards are smelly, and in turn they are personal playgrounds for a lot of geese.

The course has no signature hole. With some work on 18 it could be beautiful

1. Clean up the lake by using a backhoe and getting rid of all the overgrowth

2. Get rid of the eyesore beaver dam

3. Along the drive in prune the trees they look beat up and plant flowers as golfers drive in they will be impressed

4. Extend the lake all the way to the right side of the team box it goes almost to the green and the view would be beautiful

Hole 1 ,6, and 7 also have water and edging then will clean up the mess and also deprive all the geese of nesting sites. Hole 7 and 8 greens had geese droppings on them.

For what the course has it’s great but they are sitting on an unfinished gem

Had a good round with my family. The weather could’ve been better.

We wanted to try something different, so we headed to the desert. Had fun navigating the rolling terrain and endless sand. There was a lot of strong wind on that day, which added to the difficulty. Staff was awesome. Course was in good shape, and the sand was nice and fluffy. Thanks!

The course is in excellent shape for this time of year in Canada. The fairways have really dried out in the last week, when it was quite mushy in some spots. Only 4 groups playing, so we really had the run of the place. Challenging because of the 10-15 km breeze and chilly temperatures.

Great Day considering the time of year. Course was in great shape. Hoping the weather holds on to allow us to play again this year. Staff was friendly and restaurant was great as usual as well

Challenging design, but very playable course for both low and high handicap players. Course was in great shape for this late in the year

Flawless maintenance and REALLY FAST GREENS!!! Local knowledge is a MUST if you are trying to score. MANY huge bunkers and tricky terrain near water make this course a challenge.

For October weather the course was in great shape, the greens were really good and still rolled fast. The greens were also soft enough that shots were holding the greens, you could be aggressive going for the pins and the ball would stick.

The greens are absolutely perfect.

The Dunes is a solid golf track. Nice layout with good quality conditions. The tee boxes are good. The fairways and rough are good. The greens roll quick and true. The electric carts are top notch. Had the Friday night buffet post golf and the roast beef and fish were top notch. Course will not blow you away visually but the layout and surrounding hillsides are nice.

Great course layout in great shape with really friendly staff. Most holes were challenging, the greens rolled true and at a good tempo. I will come back and play again when in the Kamloops area.
