Tobiano Golf Course

About
Tobiano Golf Course stretches across more than 1,000 acres of rugged terrain located at the heart of British Columbia's interior. Situated on the site of the historic Six Mile Ranch, a famous cattle ranch known for its Red Angus breed, the golf course offers a golfing experience unlike any other. It's the highest-ranking public golf course in B.C. and it's the sixth best public course in all of Canada. The beautiful landscape and its natural features inspired the Thomas McBroom design. McBroom also utilized the stunning views of the lakes and mountains that stretch from every direction. Notable holes include the no. 1 handicap hole, the intimidating par-5 eighth, and the trio of holes beginning with the fourth, all of which are par 4s. Tobiano is a golf course that is challenging from the intimidating first tee to the undulating green on the final hole.

Good view, tough golf course
Great view every holes. Really hard to play. Some elevation, narrow fairways, tough green. Just relax take in the view and not your scorecard.
Favourite course in BC
Extremely difficult course but the place is paradise. So well designed and constantly makes you think - need to be really good off the tee (esp from Spur/Iron tees)
Great value and service for your $$
We were on a 5 course golf trip this past week and Tobiano was the best. Even better than the experience at Sagebrush. Thanks Tobiano. We will be back next year! 🏌️♂️
Tuff Track
A scenic beauty overlooking Kamloops Lake but beware it is very unforgiving. Too many blind shots that need to be precise to score well. Not a good course for the mid to high handicapper.
Playable but tough
First time playing it was a visually gorgeous. Greens are extremely quick, smooth and firm. What a great experience. Played a course in the area that claims to be the best public course in BC. This hands down is much more playable and little blind tee shots.. will
definitely play it again
great course
The pace of play has slowed at this course an it appears their approach is to sweet talk those who bring it to their attention rather than address the slow play. It is such a spectacular course, but easy to loose balls, take to long looking for the ball, and want to then hit a second tee shot, plus taking far to long lining up putts. Standing and waiting at every shot takes the fun out of the round for those who respect and follow the pace of play. There definitly are courses that have very effectively addressed the issue of players wanting to take five or more hours to play around. I am sure there are many who avoid courses where this issue isn't dealt with.
great course
every thing was good golfed sunday stunning weather only 126 booked golfers tells me green fees wat to high 30 to 50% higher than other top courses in the area.there was a 4some hot real and only 2 spots sold.
Fantastic Layout
Having travelled to play golf a lot, I was somewhat disappointed by the courses I’d played in Canada until I got to Tobiano.
The layout here is fantastic and tests all parts of your game including your course management. You will be rewarded for plotting your way around rather than just trying to overpower it.
The biggest disappointment was the pace of play. When we arrived at the starter he informed us PoP was expected to be 4.5-5hrs. We were shocked. Even more so later on when we were having to wait on every single shot. There was a 4ball playing a scramble holding up the entire field and despite playing as a 2ball behind them, they refused to let us through and even when we spoke to the Marshall, nothing was done. A real shame as the course was great.
Even with the PoP issue, I highly recommend, especially to the better golfers who will appreciate the layout more than the slightly more erratic golfer.
Great course with a challenging layout
Perfect weather, great views, and great pace of play. I will play this course again.
Poor Experience at ProShop
After playing this course many time, my last round included poor service at the ProShop. While visiting Kamloops with my family from the east coast, we wanted to play a round with my parents attending as a ride along (since they do not play). The pro shop attendant, after considering my request for 3 seconds, told me that this was not an option and informed me that my parents couldn’t ride along with us.
I found this odd and questioned the attendant on it. In October, 2024 I had my brother visit me in Kamloops, specifically to play Tobiano. He broke a bone weeks before his trip which rendered him incapable of playing but he was allowed to attend the course with me as a ride along for a fee. When I brought this up, the attendant was annoyed about my response and indicated that it was impossible for anyone to attend as a ride along.
However, the issue eventually got resolved. After some explaining by another family member, the attendant reluctantly allowed the ride-along. Unfortunately, the whole experience left me with a negative view of Tobiano.
Unfortunately just hit a day where the wind was too much, on the back nine. Really slowed the pace of play. Otherwise outstanding place
