Thorncreek Golf Club

About
The golf course at Thorncreek Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course in the city of Thornton. The course features 7,268 yards of golf from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. Designed by Finger Dye Spann, Inc., the course has a links-style layout. A unique aspect of the course is that a street separates the front nine holes from the back nine. Lakes that are situated on the course create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. Thorncreek Golf Club's signature hole is the par-4, 18th hole, which has a fairway with a water hazard along one side.

Great course especially for the price. If you are looking for a challenging course this is it.

horrible shape this year
I've played this course in years' past and it has been in good condition. This summer? It is in the worst condition I've ever seen. I hit a 5 wood into the fairway from the tee box and a cloud of dirt blew up as it landed. The greens/pin-placement are a challenge.. and nobody fixes their golf marks on the green. Not worth the money or the time.
The coursre was good but way to much cart path only on the back 9 way to much walk slowed down pace of play
Was a fair course and very slow for a week day round
great course
Great deal! Had Fun Cart girl was very personable great asset to the course
Natural layout, very challenging
Very well designed course, one hole flows right in to the next. Lots of hills so proper placement of shots is essential. The greens are very fast and undulating, lots of shots to be given away there if you aren't careful.
Horrible course
The course was horrible. Fairways horrible shape greens horrible shape tee boxes horrible shape. Pace of play well let's just say its an all day affair. Would hit a shot then sit for 15-20 minutes. Marshall was an 8 year old looking kid that just told you what you wanted to hear.
Great Value, Fun Course
Just minutes North from me and just off I-25. This is a Gem! look for the great offers on golfnow.com
Over watered and under cared for....
Had some way over watered areas in the fairways that were a mess. Did not have the areas roped off and the traffic from the carts & people playing the ball where it lies in those areas made a mess of some fairways.
Still had some bare and dead areas on the course for only being the end of June.
Great course for price
Grest staff. Nice, fast greens. Fairways need attention. Way better course than over priced Eagle Trace.
This course is a very nice and challenging layout.
There were a number of areas on the fairways and around the greens with bear spots that needed maintenance. Other than that the overall layout and greens are exceptional.
Course will challeng your shot making ability
Course has a challenging lay out with "the creek" coming into play frequently. Makes one consider your shot, are you a shot maker--has fun factor, or if you are a swing away kind of golfer-- be sure to bring plenty of balls. Course in reasonable shape-- most of the courses are still recovering from a rough spring.
Not good
Greens were like a circus putt putt course and half the fairways were flooded despite no rain for 3 weeks. A lot better options in the area.
Friendly Staff
We had a early tee time. Very friendly staff! Course was in great condition, fast greens. It had been a couple years since we played Thorncreek and forgot what a good course this was and excellent value!
Issues
Allowed a 5 some on the course...told marshal..nothing done
Need a dedicated server for dining room..had to order meal at the counter
Ok Course
In good condition, recently taken over by City of Thornton. They need to work on employees interaction with golfers who experience issues.
Great Golf North of Denver
Thorncreek is a very enjoyable but tough course, many of the holes have large elevation changes between the tee box and the green making it harder on the typical player, especially the back 9. Overall I found this course to be fun and challenging, just what I am looking for. I would play here again.
This course needs lots of attention
Probably would not pay the money to play this course again unless major improvements in course conditions happen. Don't know who was in charge but it appeared to have very young adults running the pro shop and on the course. Had a main water break which should have required immediate attention but maintenance crew was slow responding which resulted in cartpath flooding and huge loss of water which could have been used on the course. No ranger present on course the day we played which was a Friday.
not that great a condition for the price
greens were in good shape, fairways left something to be desired, tee boxes were chunked up, need to impress upon customers the need to repair ballmarks on greens.
While we're young!
We gave up after 10 holes. It was so slow I could see the grass growing between holes. Don't put walkers in front of riders.
Pretty Nice
Course was in fairly nice condition: greens were excellent, fairways were fairly burnt. As long as you stay out of the rough, very thick, you are alright, but its tough to find your ball 10-12 feet off the fairways on most holes. Nice clubhouse with restaurant and friendly staff.
