Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club - Lakes Course
About
Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club, located in southwestern Ontario on the outskirts of Guelph, offers three different nine-hole golf courses. All 27 holes stretch across a beautiful rolling landscape that is dotted with large ponds. The land is also densely forested, making shot accuracy integral in doing well. The Valley's creek also meanders through several holes. Each golf course at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club is uniquely designed to offer a variety of different challenges. The Lakes Course, as its name implies, features plenty of water hazards. There are also strategically placed, Ohio white sand bunkers to be cautious of. Although it has a good amount of challenges, players of all skill levels will enjoy the golf courses at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club.

Great Value
Great course, good pace, and the staff were fantastic.
Window day
Course was in decent shape considering it was Nov 5. Staff including the Marshall were very curious and helpful.
Enjoyable
Considering the time of year and the very high winds that day, the coarse was in really good shape.
Neglected
This is a golf course that I always liked to play. Nice layout and large greens. However I feel it is being neglected! The greens are in very poor condition and the T boxes are in need of maintenance.
I won't be back..
Decent for fall golf
Last minute decision to play and Ariss was available.
Played alone. Starter got me on before a foursome which was great.
Fairways were in ok shape. Some burned out spots and bare spots I wasn't expecting. Ground overly hard in some spots too. Greens were ok.
Giving the benefit of the doubt that it's mid-October. Haven't played here in the prime golf weather in years and years so can't compare. But compared to other places I have been to in the past few weeks, Ariss was ok. Decent value when booking on GN.
Would recommend and need to play in the summer next year.
Grass?
Fairways for the most part a dirt or weeds. Greens as well are iffy to say the least. Again very patchy with poor grass coverage. Bunkers are a joke as most have sunk and sand disappearing. That being said the bunkers are full of stones. They should be just filled in. The tee boxes are a mess to say the least and bring along a hammer to get your tee in the ground. The discount GN rate made it easier to swallow but I sure would not pay full price.
