Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club - Lakes Course
About
Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club, located in southwestern Ontario on the outskirts of Guelph, offers three different nine-hole golf courses. All 27 holes stretch across a beautiful rolling landscape that is dotted with large ponds. The land is also densely forested, making shot accuracy integral in doing well. The Valley's creek also meanders through several holes. Each golf course at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club is uniquely designed to offer a variety of different challenges. The Lakes Course, as its name implies, features plenty of water hazards. There are also strategically placed, Ohio white sand bunkers to be cautious of. Although it has a good amount of challenges, players of all skill levels will enjoy the golf courses at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club.

Step up the greens
I generally like this course throughout the year but they’ve really got to do something about the greens during this fall season. They’re incredibly inconsistent, cut too long, and trimmings left right on the putting surface. I’ll play again eventually but between the tee boxes and greens I’m done for this year.
Greens need some tlc
Enjoyed the challenge
Great layout
Pace of play was a struggle waiting at almost every tee box for up to 10 minutes.
Would play again
Decent value
Overall the course was decent value for the money. Greens grass was longer than normal, causing greens to be very slow. Dead spots
On greens on a few holes. Tee boxes and some fairways need to be repaired but can be expected this late in the season.

Great time
Course was wide open and the greens were well kept and green
Good Round
Enjoyed my round. Greens in good shape. Fairways need some rain.
Dry hard as a rock dirty bouncy greens
Arrived at 1040am, marshalls circling us hole after hole. they were moving the green holes at 11am. Greens were bouncy and not cleaned off, chunks of grass everywhere. Tboxes unkept, no divot sand tons if divots no grass, ground was hard as a rock, very dissapointing to see such a scenic course in the shape it was in given all the water hazards and plenty of water sources. Appears someone lost the key for the sprinkle system.
Rating Course
This course is an excellent layout. However, the fairways were badly damaged. Appeared to be lack of watering. There was plenty of rain this summer so this was unusual. Sand traps were very hard no grooming. Greens were good with some damaged areas but very nice. All in all the course is very challenging to play and with a little TLC it could be a GREAT Course.
Grass was all burnt, fairways greens tee boxes. I’m not sure how that’s possible with all the rain we had this year. Bring a hammer so you can get your tee into the ground
Great course!
Enjoyed the very friendly greeting by the starter and checkin attendant. Very picturesque course with a great mix of styles and difficulty. Will definitely be back!
Nice rural course
Ariss Valley GC is a scenic course with no shortage of water hazards. My round occurred after an extended dry spell so the fairways were hard and fast. The greens contained a fair bit of dry patches, so irrigation might be a problem at this time of year. Nevertheless, an enjoyable round.
Good course
Good course and fair price!! Fairways and greens in good shape.
Perfect day
Course in good shape, fairways fast, greens receptive to shots. Front nine was a little slow having to wait on every tee.
Golf
Just a shame how this course has deteriorated since golf north took over. Tee blocks are in terrible shape greens are burnt off and all green approaches are weed infested. Have played this course many times over the years and find it so sad how it has fallen down. I know no one cares but we will not be back and will not encourage others to play there.
