Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club - Willows Course
About
Located on the outskirts of the southwestern city of Guelph, Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club offers 27 holes of scenic golf that sprawl across a rolling landscape of trees and ponds. The Willows golf course is one of the three nine-hole courses at the club. The Willows features an abundance of trees that demand accuracy and keen course management. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also strategically placed, Ohio white sand bunkers throughout the course. Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club's Willow course offers a fair challenge, but it is also approachable for beginning and intermediate players. The other two golf courses provide plenty of other golfing options as well.

Hot day for a round
Hot day for a round, but course in great shape. Good pace of play. Hard course for walking 18 in 90% humidity and 26 deg C.
Another farmer who thinks he can build and maintain a golf course
There's four strains of grass fighting it out on the fairways, which need to be cut badly. Even in the middle of the fairway, you are unlikely to have a lie that allows clean contact on the ball.
Most annoying thing is the starter, who would not tell us which nines we were playing until it was time to go there. No way to chip and put while you are waiting as you'd have to walk 200 yards back to the start and then to your tee and there's no time for that. Also, can't set your GPS app up as he won't tell you your second nine until you turn. I mean, it's a morning tee time, you have your tee sheet. Who's going off what nines should be planned out, not based on some idiot looking to see what tee is open.
Never playing again.
Great course! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely would play there again!
Hills, trees, water-got it all!
Enjoyed day with my son. Course is quite hilly so be prepared if walking.
great day / great golf
The course was well groomed and in perfect shape. The rough was not too long. Carts are electric and very quiet. greens are perfect with true roll and shape of line.
Disappointing
Fairways were extremely long, doesn’t look like they have been cut in days. Some areas have random high grass that didn’t get cut in fairways. Even bunkers had grass growing in them. Overflowing garbage bins all over the place, again haven’t been emptied in days. Overall very poorly maintained course. No organization after the turn to which 9 we were playing next. Waited about 10 minutes before we received instructions. First and last time playing for 75$.
Great day
Played at Ariss today and it is my second time playing there. .Pace of play was great, staff was super friendly and would definitely play here again. Beautiful scenery, , nice hole layout and challenging course . Great value !
Course is in good shape
The course was in good shape, some standing water in some areas, particularly on the lakes course, but It wasn’t a problem. Staff asked us to avoid driving in the wet areas.
Otherwise, the greens and fairways were excellent.
Staff was excellent- distancing is in effect and they are well prepared to deal with the COVID practices.
Overall, a good day at a good course.
Rough shape
Greens were fine but the rest of the course needs a whole lot of maintenance. We will not play it again until they cut back the fescue, cut the rough and manicure the fairways.
Our experience
Overall a good course to play! The course has Plenty of holes (3 sets of 9) to play and a good mix of difficulty. Grass was long making fairway shots feel like I was in the rough, and the rough feel like I was weed whacking. Pace of play was good for our group and the staff was accommodating and clear on rules given the current Covid situation. We weren’t given a choice on which set of holes we wanted to play however (they instructed us to play specific ones may be due to Covid?).
Round at Ariss Valley
Well I’ve been driving past this course almost my whole life and never played. Today I finally got the chance to play as it looked so amazing driving by it every time. Paid 75$ including cart so I expected to be a great course and be a good enjoyable round. Very disappointed with the way the course was maintained which really got to me during my round. You can make good shots off the tee and up deep in thick rough or even on the fairway which none of them looked like they haven’t been cut in weeks or months. Really would appreciate the course to give me the heads up how the course is currently maintained as I probably wouldn’t have wasted that much money on terrible conditions.
Beautiful Course
Booked this course through Golfnow app. Unfortunately when we got there they didn't have a reservation for us. But the staff managed to squeeze us in anyway. Was a beautiful course and a great layout
Good course
Course looks good, fairways could use shorter cut. Was too long.
Greens are in good conditions but very slow.
Overall it’s a nice course, challenging but maintenance of fairways was disappointing.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE COURSES
Not ready for opening
I have had many people tell me that this course is great, so went to try it yesterday. I completely understand the current situation in regards to facilities, but the condition of the course was terrible. Fairways had dandelions as tall as my knee and pace of play was slow with new players. (This I also understand in the current world). However, the staff was wonderful and very friendly. Will go back to hive it another try but will drive by first to see the course condition.
