Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines is one of three nine-hole courses at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club, which is located on the outskirts of Guelph. The Pines golf course shares a heavily forested landscape that is dotted with large ponds with the other two courses, the Willows and the Lakes. There is also a creek that winds through several holes. In addition to the water hazards coming into play, the Pines course also features several strategically placed, Ohio white sand bunkers. Each golf course at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club is uniquely designed to offer a great variety of interesting par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s. The golf courses offer something for players of every skill level

Nice course
Some soggy patches and long second cut but had a good round all the same.
Nice course
Enjoyed the course as a newbie golfer. Was not pushed to move faster. Easy to trasition from hole to hole. Friendly outgoing service from staff. I'd go again
Great Value
Good layout. Greens are massive and challenging. The scenery is beautiful!
Perfect for beginners
I liked the layout and the the wide fairways. Just wide enough where you can make a mistake on the drives. The greens are massive and in decent shape. The scenery is beautiful. Will definitely come back . Great Value for your money.
Going Down
The course has potential...not good conditions...fairways were almost not discernable from rough in some areas. Rough was rediculous...obvious it wasnt being set up for a US open either...just not maintained. Greens were in fair shape, but still beaten up. TEE decks...well...your first shot in golf should be on a decent lie...uneven and beat up. 50 bucks with 5 dollars off on a hot deal...not even worth that at all.
Course is in great shape
We were a twosome, and it took just over 4 hours to play. It wasn’t us, or the two guys in front of us, or the two in front of them, by the two in front of them that were so slow. Got to the back nine and things picked up, until we ran up to a group of four walkers. Other than the pace of play, things were great.
Nice course and great staff.
Willows and pines
Course worth playing with nice girl working there. Played willows and pines. I liked the former better. To walk is good workout. With cart is much easier. I will practice and come back to beat you.
Enjoyable Day at Ariss Valley
It has been a dry summer and fairways were more than a little dry. Greens, however, were in very good shape and overall we had a very enjoyable day. The course had an interesting layout, with very large greens. Pace of play was very good. I would recommend course to anyone who wants a good value.
Good conditions, great value and pace of play
Played Ariss twice last week with family. Conditions were pretty good, considering we have had no rain recently. No one in front of us on the course, so we could play at whatever pace we wanted. Staff were great, friendly and very helpful.
Always a challenge
Love the course. Could use a little more TLC. Greens are fair but tough. Every hole is different. All levels would like this course. Pace on a weekend was excellent. Good to see marshals out keeping it rolling.
Price Reduction
Our foursome arrived to a near empty parking lot., Why? Because their regular rate is too high. Even with a Hot Deal we paid $50. This is a $40 w/cart max. course. Even with all the rain we’ve had the fairways were burnt. Though last time I was here, 20 years ago, it was in pretty rugged condition.
Wonderful day in the golf course
Even with the wind and spotty showers, we enjoyed our day in this beautiful course. Fairways were in great condition and greens were fun to putt on. Overall, we had a great day and will go back again.
Great open, brutal close
This was my first time golfing at Ariss Valley and after driving by it for 4 years on my commute I was extremely excited to play it finally. 820 tee time. Course wasn’t busy at all. Staff was very friendly. First 9 we played the Willow course and it was fantastic - exactly what I hoped for. Other than some players not fixing the ball marks on greens, everything looked great and felt like it was really a great course for the money.
Then we went to the Lakes course.
It was like night and day. Really really dried out, clumps of cut grass covered almost every single fairway to the point that even if you hit it right down the middle, chances are you’d have to go looking for your ball. Some bunkers looked like they hadn’t been touched by turf crew all year and had some serious weeds in them. Only 2/9 holes had distance stakes. Compared to the front 9 we had just played, it felt like we went from an $80-100 a round course to a “buck a hole” golf club.
Maybe we caught them on a bad day. But still I feel like the back 9 really cheapened the experience. Maybe the “Pines” course was in better shape, but feel like they should have at least given players the heads up that Lakes was in rough shape.
I’ll probably give the course another chance at some point, hoping for the experience I had on the Willow course.
Alright course
Was harassed by the Marshall for not paying for our carts even when we had the receipts to prelove it
