Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines is one of three nine-hole courses at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club, which is located on the outskirts of Guelph. The Pines golf course shares a heavily forested landscape that is dotted with large ponds with the other two courses, the Willows and the Lakes. There is also a creek that winds through several holes. In addition to the water hazards coming into play, the Pines course also features several strategically placed, Ohio white sand bunkers. Each golf course at Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club is uniquely designed to offer a great variety of interesting par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s. The golf courses offer something for players of every skill level

Great Blue Heron on Willows 8th green. Photo submitted by u000006115569 on 10/02/2014
Grass was all burnt, fairways greens tee boxes. I’m not sure how that’s possible with all the rain we had this year. Bring a hammer so you can get your tee into the ground
Great course!
Enjoyed the very friendly greeting by the starter and checkin attendant. Very picturesque course with a great mix of styles and difficulty. Will definitely be back!
Nice rural course
Ariss Valley GC is a scenic course with no shortage of water hazards. My round occurred after an extended dry spell so the fairways were hard and fast. The greens contained a fair bit of dry patches, so irrigation might be a problem at this time of year. Nevertheless, an enjoyable round.
Good course
Good course and fair price!! Fairways and greens in good shape.
Perfect day
Course in good shape, fairways fast, greens receptive to shots. Front nine was a little slow having to wait on every tee.
Golf
Just a shame how this course has deteriorated since golf north took over. Tee blocks are in terrible shape greens are burnt off and all green approaches are weed infested. Have played this course many times over the years and find it so sad how it has fallen down. I know no one cares but we will not be back and will not encourage others to play there.
Could be a lot better , tee boxes unacceptable condition and a couple bunkers not taken care of eg . Lakes hole 8 par 3 , the bunkers in the back are in terrible condition…. If this corse was taken care of it would be beautiful, great layout , I would play again for the price , just need a better job on the tees and bunkers … nice layout!!!! Fairways in good shape !!!
Tee blocks like cement
The course has improved considerably since last year, however the tee blocks need watering, on some it was well near impossible to get the tee into the ground
Greens
The greens were adequate and nice and soft.
They were spoiled however by people not repairing their ball marks. On one green I repaired at least twentyand that was just ehere I was putting!
The tee boxes were also inundated with broken tees that inconsiderate people ( I can't call them golfers) not removind them or at least placing them near the markers.
Good track, Average Maintenaince
The course was an interesting track. Too bad it was only par 35 on each of the nines, you'd like to se another par 5, but all the holes were appropriately challenging for a shorter course. The fairway wasn't cut much different from the rough, but the greens were in good shape (although lots of unfixed ballmarks...not the course's fault...but the fault of golfers.)
Golf
Have played this course before and think it is a real shame how it has deteriorated in the past two years since golf north became involved. Greens are burnt off lay up areas full of weeds and appears corners have been cut and maintanance has suffered. Tee blocks are almost unplayable and appears no efforts made to improve. Just too bad used to be a great place to place but will not be back
Wouldn’t take much to improve
The tee decks are a dirty mess. How hard is it to fill some divots and grow new grass??? Also bunkers are running low on sand and greens have somehow got some burned off patches. $43 is priced right.
Beautiful and challenging
Absolutely beautiful course for the region. It has everything you want from long fairways to tight isolated by water par 3s. Friendly staff, friendly patrons and well maintained course. I am thrilled to go back again.
Good Value
Purchased the 2 for 1 deal last winter. At that price it is good value. The location is good for my situation.
The course layout is fine. My major complaint is the tee boxes.
They need some maintenance.
