Heritage Hills Golf Club
About
Heritage Hills Golf Club, conveniently located just minutes from downtown Barrie, has an interesting layout that features a combination of wide open, links-style holes and holes framed by mature forest. Although there are numerous strategically placed bunkers and swales, there are also generous landing areas that make it accessible to players of all skill levels. Willow Creek winds through the hilly landscape, offering beautiful scenery. Heritage Hills Golf Club’s greens are large and undulating, and there is the occasional double-tiered green. Although there is only one distinct water hazard, which is on the 12th, the course requires many demanding carries over the creek. Heritage Hills also offers a grass range with target greens and a practice putting green for golfers to use.

To early so too wet still
Lots of very wet spots on the course due to recent rains and it appears that the course doesn't drain very well. However, to be fair it is very early in the spring for all the snow to have melted and been absorbed into a saturated ground.
Still playable but hope your golf shoes are water proof.
Great layout
Does not drain well though. A few holes on the front 9 were waterlogged. Good thing they still allowed carts to be out.
First Time Experience
The fairways were soggy but in good shape, sand bunkers were hit and miss (some were maintained, some washed out). With the winds howling, some holes played extremely long. The course should take note of that and move the tee decks based on weather conditions in the future for pace of play purposes. Fortunately I played when hardly anybody was out. Greens were running slow and felt grainy. I am not sure if they mow them down by peak season but they are in need of grooming. The only major complaint: the flag locations were tournament Sunday locations; to elaborate, some of them in ridiculous spots. I am almost a single digit handicap so I could only imagine how difficult it would have made it for recreational players. Overall it is fair in terms of value but it wouldn't hurt if they shaved 5-10 dollars off for a green fee for this time of the season.
Fall Pleasure
Had a good round of golf on a late autumn day. Greens are always in great shape rolling true and for the fall quick. The bunkers are in poor shape so stay out of them. A pleasure to play.
golf
excellent weather for November course and greens in good shape good value for time year
Nice course
Any round we can get in at this time of year is a good round. The fairways are in good shape, I found the sand too many times, some of the greens are just not fair, ya I know, WAAA. I found myself with at least 6 putts that were 3-4 breakers, uphill then down, some tough greens but in good shape. We enjoyed the day but a one hour drive is a bit of a bummer. We'll go again but I won't be a regular.
Hot Deal
The best course under $50 I've ever played. Love it
The course was in good condition for this time of year and all the hot weather.
5 hr and 20 min to play 18 holes
Nice course. Friendly staff.
We booked this course through GolfNow. We've never played it before. It's not a bad course. Not overly tough. Greens are huge and have some big undulation to them. Unfortunately for us they were air-rating the greens and top dressing them so they were not rolling well. We understand the need for this process as it is necessary to keep the greens beautiful. I played from the blues at found it perfect for me. I'm a 7 handicap...scored 78 but could've been lower if the greens were normal. Very friendly staff, especially the starter who came around from time to time to ensure the pace of play was good.
Greens on this couse have a lot of character.
I have played this course 4 or 5 times now and have not had a bad experience. I find the course interesting. Great bang for your buck. My only complaint is the traps could use more sand, but I find that with 90% of the courses I play. Well kept, friendly staff. Had a visitor in from Brighton ON and he was impressed as well.
Well worth the trip
I really enjoyed my round at Heritage Hills. The course had well spaced out tee boxes so just about anyone should be able to find a comfortable distance. The course itself was interesting with a fair amount of elevation change. The greens and fairways were generous in size and in good shape. The cart paths are a bit rough but that's pretty tolerable for a relatively new course. Overall, it was a good value and I hope I can get back there again next year.
Fun challenging layout
Great course.. Not too easy but not too hard.. Had a blast definitely be coming back
Always good fun at Heritage Hills
Heritage Hills is tucked away just outside of Barrie. I find that it is little known even to the golfers in Barrie. Some good marketing would certainly help. There are few on site amenities (the clubhouse is obviously temporary), and there are essentially no apres golf opportunities. However, the golf is a very good value, and the course is interesting and can be challenging. The first holes are through a forested area, followed by what is essentially links type golf. You will need to place your shots, and hit over creek areas on a few holes. This isn't a high end country club experience, but will be enjoyable for almost every skill level. Great value for the money.
This course had pros and cons
Heritage hills was in great shape overall. The greens are big and alot of undulation in them. If u dont like putting like i do it will be an adventure! Length is ok for a long hitter like myself there are quite a few risk reward kind of shots!
great course
this course is very nice, some holes are deceiving staff we very good so friendly highly recommend this golf course to all golfers
Nice spot
I like this course, the conotions are usually great. The greens are always in good shape. Fun course to play, front 9 is a little more challenging.
Great course
We arrived and it was quite busy. We were told that we would be 20 mins late from scheduled tee off.
This was due in part to a lack of golf carts since golfers were taking carts without the starters permission.
We had no cart upon arrival but the foursome to tee off behind us had carts.
When the starter approached the gentleman in charge of carts, the young guy said he was multi tasked and could not help.
We finally got our carts. Empty beer cans included.
we were behind 2 foursomes- pace of play was slow- some guy- we realized on the 15 hole was the Mashall. He rode up parked and watched for a few secs and left. It was 5 hrs into play and we were waiting to tee up at the 15th. By this time we were very frustrated with the pace and congestion.
We went ahead and the 17-18 holes had no one on the course.
The Marshall could have arranged for a play through and return to finish with the other holes allowing a break in the grid lock.
Instead we went to the 18th and played, missing the 15,16,17 hole.
5 1/2 hrs with only 15 holes completed.
Otherwise the course was challenging and had a great layout as well as great maintenance.
