Southbrook Golf Club
About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

$26.99 Deal
Went with my dad, course was tough for him because hes old and we have really been out much. Lots of trees but overall our tee shots were in the fairways. the greens were damp a little but the consistency from green to green was great. You easily could get a handle on the speed after a couple holes. The marshal was friendly and checked in on us because we were 2 behind a trio and let us know we could move ahead if they take a break after nine. Very enjoyable round for sure and well worth it at 30 dollars or so a piece
Southbrook golf
fairways are brutal and have not recovered sufficiently from spring flooding. GREENS WERE VERY GOOD AND TRICKY SOMEWHAT ON THE HARD SIDE.Very nice layout with a good mix of varied holes. Greens are mostly crowned so you need to watch your approach shots.
Great Day
Course was in great shape!
Only problem was pace of play!
Good Course, Sub par Staff
I thought the golf course itself was pretty well maintained and had a lot of shot variety. It was a nice mixture of some long par 5s and a few shorter par 3s. Pretty good course with various sand traps and water hazards mixed in to add some excitement.
The tee boxes were a little on the dry side and fairly hard but I guess thats too be expected for this time of year.
I would have rated it higher if the gentleman at the club shop was fairly rude myself and another guest while we were trying to pay. Coming up behind me and yanking the 'Golf Now' reservation out of my hand and proceeding to inflate the agreed upon price while complaining about the deal we got is not a great way to start the day.
I hope it was a bad day for him and he doesn't usually treat paying customers that way regardless of the deal.
All in all, the course was very nice, customer service sub par.
A Good Course for Most Golfers
This is a fairly typical course for this area. It can play a little, particularly if there is a significant wind, as a lot of the longer holes are into the prevailing wind. The course surface was quite hard and could have been watered more regularly. The tee blocks were very hard. The greens were quite good and of a good speed, but not super fast.
Very good value course
Course is in better than average shape with a nice layout. Back nine is somewhat tougher than front. Plenty of birdie opportunities with generous fairways and not a lot of bunkers. With most greens tilted and in good shape front to back playing short with a roll-up to a front pin works extremely well; with back pins add a club. Tees are a little worn and hard - you'll probably need a tee per hole. Staff is very friendly with good pace of play and typically very good value at the GolfNow Hot Deal price.
Great local course
One of my favourite courses to play! Course is well looked after.
Not the same Southbrook
I have played this course 50+ times in the last 5 years. However new owners this year have made this a horrible experience. Huge signs saying "no outside alcohol". I don't have any problem with that, but it doesn't present well to those who just want to golf. If you purchase a beer, you get a bright yellow label saying "proof of purchase as if the customer is a criminal. Right from the get go you get a sense of uneasiness. The fairways and greens on the front 9 were ROCK hard! Many yellow spots on the greens and fairways. I have never seen Southbrook without 50+ cars in the parking lot, this time there was less than 15 which goes to show people are finding better options. Used to be a solid course with average conditions, now it's nothing more than a below average experience.
Used to be a hidden gem
I grew up playing Southbrook and have many fond memories. I had not been back for some years and wish I hadn't returned. The course is in poor shape and is not worth the money
Great Course
Always enjoy playing this course, its a great course and fairly priced. Pace of play was excellent, didn't have to wait at any hole. Would recommend this course to anyone. Can't wait to go back
Nice course
Course was great, pace good. Great value for money. Got off early. Friendly staff etched.
Nice Layout
Course has a nice layout with lots of tree lined fairways. Front nine is traditional & nicer of 2 nines. Pace of play on back nine was slower but overall a nice day & under 4 hours play.
This Course Has A Good Variety Of Holes
The layout I find very enjoyable with a good variety of holes. The par 5s or reachable and water comes into play a few times on the par 4s. The speed of play was very good. We finished in less and 3 1/2 hours as a twosome!
Great Setting
Fun To Play..Good Layout..Will play again and recommend to friends
Always nice to play
After the winter and spring we had, it is nice just to see the ball bounce again. Conditions were good. Southbrook made it through the winter a lot better than most.
Staff always great and a fun day
Nice Course
This is a nice course but I had to wait for a good hot deal to play a little pricey for this course any other time greens were nice and enjoyed the round
Great course interesting layout, good shapes and great value.
This course offers a great challenge to all levels of players. It was in amazing shape including the greens. Played it two times in the last week.... Oct 11 and Oct 18.......a little water on a few fairways but it was from so much rain the day before. As always with this season in Ontario leaves present a great problem when landing it off of the fairway....With a variety of hole layouts it never gets boring. Many holes involve water hazards so be sure to look for them when they are placed directly behind the green. Pro shop staff were great but both times the dining room/bar staff were quite rude...first time she was texting and checking her phone while we tried to order, 2nd time a different staff member seemed like she couldn't be bothered serving us... with new bar staff this course could be five star....
