Southbrook Golf Club
About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

Confusing and packed
To start with the marshal had no idea what he was doing, sending groups literally 3 minutes apart. From the 3rd hole on there was a group on the green one on the fairway and one waiting to tee off. It has gotten worse and worse over the years it is a complete money grab, what should be a 31/2 to 4 hr round is always 5+hr round now there are 19 holes and they haven’t updated satellite data so your gps is not correct. There are much better options for less money Chippewa.,Knollwood, scenic woods etc.
Grass to long
The second cut on the fairway could be shorter we lost 3 balls just off the fairway the new par 3 is very nice and the sand in the trap is good
No starter ran terrible
No starter groups of 1,2,3 s waiting at every whole with 2-3 groups. Didn’t finish our round took over 5 and a half hours. I have been coming here for years and it will now be my last as there is always something
Pace of play
I completely understand that since Covid golf has become the fastest growing past time. With that being said both the prices and number of players have increased significantly which means thousands of new players and closer tee times, how can there be a bottleneck of 3 groups on a par 3. There’s no Marshall to speed up groups there’s no letting the better players play through. What used to be a 4hr round max is now 51/2hrs. Tee times are 5 to 10 minutes apart that’s ridiculous. At one point we were on the tee box waiting for the group in front of us who were waiting for the group in front of them to clear the green this is not a round of golf that is the line at Costco for toilet paper. Smarten up and stop overbooking and being greedy what once was a gem of a track is now just passed over on GolfNow.
Was very impressed
Course is very well maintained, staff is super friendly, food is delicious, fairways are good for amateur and well as better golfers it has its challenges but plays very well
OK Course
The Course was walking only, many holes looked like they were under construction.....tire tracks to the dirt, also the forward tees or lady tees were not identified or on some holes not even there
