Glen Eagle Golf Club - Red/Blue
About
Glen Eagle Golf Club, which is situated just northwest of Toronto, offers 27 holes of championship golf that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course features undulating fairways and large, heavily contoured greens that move fast. The Red nine is the most difficult of the three nines at the club. It demands keen course management skills and accurate tee shots. It also requires a few long drives at 3, 521 yards form the tips. The Blue nine is challenging as well, but there are birdie opportunities on the 5th and 7th since their greens aren't elevated like all of the others.

Andrew
Unfourtunatley we couldn’t make it to the game today we had a Covid issue. We were not able to move the date so we had to take the cancellation fee.
Not worth the money
Played on a Saturday and the pace was good as a foursome. Only waited on a few shots. Greens were the best part of the course but it was not anything special. A few holes had some dead spots and some pitch marks. Fairways were pretty hard. Brown was a common look with the fairways, tee boxes, and rough. Not worth what they were charging for 70$ but it is a decent track if you are learning and the price is dropped a bit
Benefits of pandemic, but be ware for future
Power carts for both 2 somes down right dangerous, gas powered stupid design dangerous on hills , left after 9 holes , pace of play and carts , avoid cart 20 and 68 until they are repaired or replaced.
Disappointing conditions
I played this course regularly 5+ years ago and it was a well maintained track, but in 2021, Glen Eagle has become a below average course and low value for money at $112 for weekend with cart. Some observations:
- carts are old and poorly maintained. Felt like I was driving a diesel lawnmower with no shocks.
- fairways and greens were very dry and in some areas had no grass. It was like hitting off hard pan and very dusty
- bunkers are either grassy or just dirt and almost unplayable
- tee boxes were worn and hardly anywhere to hit the ball off of or stand on an even surface.
Overall, was very disappointed. Better off playing Royal Ontario, Lionheart Masters or Woodington Lake for same cost.
Nice course in poor condition
I've played this course a few times and its generally enjoyable and challenging. But the condition of the course, especially the greens is downright poor. Huge dead patches, divots and unrepaired ball marks everywhere.
Also when I got there I had no clue which 9s I would be playing. I was told only after I paid and walked over to the starter. Then he assign me the courses based on whatever internal methodology he has.
If I pay that much money, I want to know in advance which holes I will be playing and expect green conditions to be good if not great. Especially in early August when we have had abundant rain in the GTA.
Take your money elsewhere.
Great Course
We had a great day, beautiful weather, challenging course and a lousy score. The course is great and the pace of play was also consistent. Just wish we could golf in pairs vs being grouped with strangers but it wasn’t all bad. Great course and great value. Now if someone can help me with my game……..LOL.
Well maintained course with friendly staff.
Still keeping its level so far.
No complaint on the fairways n greens except a few tee platforms that needed maintenance.
Staff is friendly n efficient in checking in. Pace was good in the front nine and slowed down quite a bit in the second nine. But overall not too bad n managed to finish in three n a half hour for twosome. Like this course as it offered quite a bit of challenge n variable length to fit your skill. Weather was good n made it a very enjoyable day out there.
