Whispering Ridge Golf Course
About
Whispering Ridge Golf Course is an executive course that was designed to complement its sister course, the nearby Lakeridge Links. Although it does not have the same length the championship Lakeridge Links has, it still offers about the same level of difficulty. The layout offers a different set of challenges, providing a compelling alternative to the other course. Its design is versatile enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. A few water hazards come into play throughout as well as several deep, strategically placed bunkers. The gently rolling terrain provides some undulations in the fairways and greens. The par-3 third hole is one of the most challenging on the golf course with a gulch along the right as well as sand and rough to the left, all waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. Accuracy is a necessity on this tricky hole.

good time
Met a good partner. lots of burnt fairways greens need attention. Overall this is a do again
Poor conditions
The fairways on this course were horrible, lots of dirt, very little grass, except for a few on the back. No marshal, slow pace, players with little golf etiquette. Greens could be decent, but completely obliterated with ball marks. Grass worn down around the greens as there is no direction where to drive the carts, and consequently the patrons drive right beside the greens. Driving range only for lessons and instruction. I played here a few years ago and it was much better. The ninth hole does not finish at the clubhouse.
Fairway conditions
very poor fairways except for 3 holes on back nine.
Horrible fairways and greens
Great potential in terms of layout and design. However the course conditions were in horrible shape. Fairways were pretty much no green and all brown, the green is somewhat okay but have way more divots than other courses this year. The staff were very friendly and I saw the bevy cart came around three times in 18 holes which was great. We paid $45 + hst pp with cart, for that price I thought the course was an okay price but honesty if the conditions were the same I would not return.
Would rather be socially distant the rest of my life than play here again
To say the course conditions were the worst I’ve ever seen would be the understatement of the year, and I made the statement “COVID isn’t a big deal” earlier this year. There are no fairways, just dirt. It’s actually something you have to see to believe, but not a sight worth paying $80 for. One of the holes was under construction with a giant gravel area in front of the green, but it didn’t even seem like that big of a deal considering it fit the theme of the other holes. It’s not just the lack of grass and chopped up greens that were in horrible condition, but even the cart path was a death trap. There are giant pot holes everywhere the size of the hole in my wallet this course created when it stole my money. I was going to say it’s more of a parking lot than a golf course, but if I was reviewing it as a parking lot it would still get 1 star. I’m struggling to understand how this course is even allowed to be open. There is no number of Triple Bogey beers one would need to drink make this course enjoyable.
Fairways resembled a parking lot
The fairways were hard and dry. Seemed like some hadn’t been watered in over a month. Greens were in good condition and pace of play was excellent. I would play this course again after some heavy rain
250 yards straight down the desert.
Fairways were non-existent on this course. Course was a decent layout but tee blocks and fairways clearly have no watering system.
Shambles
This course is in very bad shape. Fairways are very dry and in desert like conditions. Hitting off a fairway is like hitting off of concrete. Greens are in pretty rough shape too. The course is “whispering” for water, but it should be screaming because nobody seems to be hearing it.
No upkeep during covid
We played Whispering Ridge before and enjoyed the course because it isn't overly difficult but has challenges. We decided to play today and were shocked how bad shape the course was in. It seems the course wasn't watered or maintained for the last few months and as a result the fairways were almost all sand and hard dirt. It was also very difficult to follow the golf ball once it got off the fairway. Overall We were quite disappointed.
Concrete fairways
It seemed like the fairways weren’t watered at all this year. I honestly preferred hitting from the rough since it actually had some grass on it. Drive slow on the cart parts or you’ll need a new lower back or tailbone.
