Needs TLC
Was not worth the hour drive from Ottawa West. Greens were rough, fairways either grass was high or some not much grass. Back 9 is hilly would be tough to walk.
Thus course has been ruined!
This used to be an amazing golf course. This year the owner shut down the best six holes to sell to a real estate developer. He reconfigured the remaining holes in a totally amateurish fashion. The result is a course that is cramped, poorly laid out and badly signed. In a futile effort to create an 18 hole layout there are several terribly designed holes including two par threes which clearly were built simply to fill in space and ensure that the course had 18 holes. A selfish decision to ruin a golfing gem!
Great experience!
Staff was incredible! Enjoyed 21 holes in less than 3 hours. Accommodated me even though a Tournament was in progress.
Spring Golf
It was sunny and cool (10C) and typical spring conditions. A bit damp and slower greens.
Congrats to the staff for getting the course this good, this quick.

golf now rate was incredible
It is an 1 1/2 hour drive one way from Ottawa but at $13.50 plus tax per person (with cart) is am amazing deal. Some of the greens were aerated for winter and some were not which made putting difficult. No attempt had been made to remove any of the autumn leaves and the "first cut" rough had not been cut, so it was 3 to 4 inches deep. As a result we lost 4 balls that should have been easy to find. But the amazing price made the 3 hours trip there and back worth it.
Fantastic course
I had'nt played this course in 12 to14 years,it was good back then but now it's excellent. We had friends with us and they were totally amassed with the condition, the layout and the scenic views are incredible !
We all will be going back ..............SOON.
good value
caught a beautiful fall day,no waiting on any of the holes, nobody pushing us,course has nice elevation changes
Some greens need more TLC but it is great course to play.
This golf course is worth while to drive and play.
Beautifully landscaped, some challenging holes but not intimidating.
Great course, great scenery!
We love going to this course because it is a beautiful drive, great scenery, and the course itself is in great shape and is interesting.
well maintained, easy, forgiving
Great course for senior players. Not really difficult enough for sub 90's players.
First time at this course so I relied on the staff and they were very helpful.
Amazing. One of the region's most beautiful golf courses
Quite frankly one of the most amazing adventures on a golf course. Almost every hole is a thing of beauty as well as a unique challenge. Try to stay out of the rough, it is almost as thick as mud in some places. The greens are well kept and roll true. It is well worth the trip.
Excellent Course Overall
Most of the tee boxes on the front do not have divot repair kits, or this would be 5 stars. they do get a ton of work.
there is a 18 hole and 9 hole course here. It's the same owners as the Pakenham golf course, but I think this is more of a challenge. It is tucked away, but well worth the 1+ hour trip (from Kanata) to play. One of the better courses I've seen in this area since playing in Ottawa.
Course has a nice layout, but.......
Calabogie has a very interesting layout with some nice holes. However, it requires attention to a couple of things:
1) the pace of play is often very slow. There are no marshals on the course, and I find that when the course is at all busy, play can easily get very backed-up.
2) the flowers / greenery around the course are lovely. However, if the same amount of attention was paid to the sand traps (in some cases more like dirt traps), it would be a big improvement.
I feel these 2 items need to be addressed by the staff to attract higher end golfers.
The course has good mixture.
Overall the Course has good mixture and is well maintained but the Greens are in need of attention. The location is nice with some water views. Overall we had a good time, except we were not pleased with the greens.
BE CAREFUL
A very nice course to play.
This course had a good layout and mix of hole lengths;some long par fives but played fairly fast for its length.
There were a few greens with sun burn spots but they still ran true.
A first time player at this course must be careful, some holes drop over a hill and can cause some blind shots from the tees.
This course has a great layout!
Great deal but the one thing that need to be addressed are the greens! I think they most of had winter damaged. They just need some love and attention!
Calabogie
Clabogie is in great shape. Two of the greens need a little help but the rest in beautiful shape. The greens staff also have an incredible number of flower boxes that add to the course.
The course is long....need a cart in my opinion.
Definetly recommend.
Great starter course for the year
Staff was great considering we were 15min late, went off right away. Snow was still present around the course and conditions were ok for the time of the year. The third hole your tee off over looks a frozen lake, pretty cool!!! Pardon the pun :)
