Whitetail Golf Club enjoys a landscape of rolling hills covered with mature trees, creeks, and ponds. Originally opened as a short nine-hole course, the layout was transformed into an 18-hole championship design in 2004. The update added a level of challenge to an already playable golf course. The first five holes are new, as are the last four. The layout has tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy and there are two tricky carries over water on the opening hole and the 17th. Both of these are par 3s that feature significant greenside bunkering that will test the iron play of even the most seasoned golfers. Whitetail Golf Club's sixth and 14th are two par 4s from the original nine that are particularly memorable since they play much longer than the indicated yardage.

Booking fee?!
We’ve always liked this course and when playing at Whitetail this week (2 foursomes) as part of a guys golf week, we ran into a booking issue.
No issues with the course rate, but when booking online there is a fee of $11.25/booking. There is nowhere on Whitetail's site indicating that this fee is for the booking system company and not part of the golf rate (so over and above the course rate). The assumption, based on the website wording, is that this is a "deposit" for the booking. The answer from the clubhouse when checking in, was that I'd have to take it up with their provider of the online bookings. What?! So they have no control over adding a fee or at a minimum clearly indicating that there is an extra fee to book online. There was no offer to refund this “fee”, instead just an “oh well” attitude from the employee.
We played 5 courses this week, all of which were booked online and the only course charging an additional fee for this "privilege" was Whitetail.
Very disappointed in the additional fee and even more dissatisfied with the response from the course.
Nice course but they really need a Marshall
Fun and challenging course for the most part,, very decent shape. But, a long way between some holes, a few awkward blind shots off the tee /crossing other holes. 3rd time playing, 2nd this season. Booked online and got a great rate 18 hole with cart rate by prepaying. However, waited far too long on most holes. 5 groups on one hole on more than one occasion. Ultimately left after 14 holes when group ahead slowed to a crawl. This course really needs a Marshall to ensure pace of play. Probably wont go back.
Very nice course
This is a very nice course. The conditions were perfect.
Horrible Pace of play and missing marshal
Played on a sunday and was stuck behind some groups. Initially I didn't think much of it because it was a 2pm sunday round but it was slow. the group behind me would lie down in the grass to wait for their next shot. After waiting 10-15 minutes to take every shot and not seeing a marshal in the almost 2.5hrs I gave up on hole 7. While driving back to the clubhouse I notice that the cluster was everyone waiting for a group on the green on 8, but 9 was completely empty. I drove around to see 10 was empty and so was 11. basically the course was empty as far as I could see. it was all one group not letting anyone through. I asked the kids in the clubhouse for a raincheck since the marshall clearly wasn't paying attention to the course and got told no. Left a message with the club pro and they couldn't be bothered to call me back in 2 days now.

very fun course great features in views and aesthetics greens early in the season but beautiful can’t wait to play it in Midsomer
